T8 necro Pet

Hey all,

I'm a pretty casual player, and just finally obtained my T8 Necro pet. Wondering what level of "soloability" this gives me.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Vague question. Talking about raid content or other zones?
With it yo can solo tiers 1 and some t2 trash (harder) but not boss (so no t2 boss too).
You can clean ldons easily (not hard ones) and totally wipe all xp zones (not dain and hmm maybe hard to do tormax or aow in kael).

Be aware that to keep him alive, you can also tank with your necro. Have perma death stalker on and get in melee range and lifetap when needed. Just fd or step back when needed. There is a nice pet heal sold in vale I think.
Back to old days I was using monk pet but now its not really the same and they all have their advantage. But if you solo, forget the rogue.
Do you have donor weapon by chance? Pet just becomes insane with it and his dps becomes just so amazing (and he regens better)

I don't have donor wep, planning on trying to get to the best gear I can solo while I bring my Warrior/Cleric combo up to speed.

I've started soloing in Kael and find that it is quite a fun challenge. I'm planning to do LDONs next to try to get upgraded gear/pet heal spell. Only thing I worry about is massive pulls in LDONs.

Thanks for the feedback!

Your pet will handle ldon stuff don't worry, just go step by step and don't rush. FD + back off when needed and have perma death stalker and tanking if needed.
I personally ran necro / shaman during months before putting a warrior in it and I didn't have t8 pet lol. I then made a cleric then the other followed.
Necro / Warrior / Cleric is a pretty good combo. My advice is just to add a bot rogue with your warrior. It will be free dps and will suit perfectly to your team.

Thanks! I plan on getting my warrior up and running and probably switching shaman out for cleric as well. Only thing I would be missing is slow, which I suspect won't be a HUGE issue if warrior is geared out correctly. Any advice on where to gear up a rog bot?

Thanks!

Rogue bot can be equipped as you gear yourself. He doesn't need much to be very nice.

Just a question : how many do you want to box ?
Indeed, shaman won't be enough to keep you healed if you want to progress alone and don't plan on donating. If you want to stick to 3 boxed toons (necro, warrior, healer), then a cleric would be good in my opinion (though shaman really nicely boost your dps but I prefer cleric for heals and group heals). Awesome thing would be, since you leveled a shaman, to keep him for buffs/debuffs and patch heals and run your warrior/cleric/necro. Some would argue, and they wouldn't be wrong, that a bard would be even better than your shaman for boosting dps, but I'm just saying that since you have leveled a shaman already so...

And yeah, regarding slow, you will get many unslowable mobs as you progress, but it's more for the shaman's ability to heal/buff/debuff that I had him in mind.

We must be on the same page. I myself cant go over 3 boxing...slower computer. I am currently working with a friend to level bard, ranger, cleric, pally. So the end group will likely be necro warrior cleric bard ranger.

I solod a necro here for a bit, just for the fun of it. They are quite powerful with the T8 pet when it comes to farming plat/aas. Like stated earlier, just take it one step at a time. If the others in your group can't take pulls of 6+ at a time, don't worry about it, just let the pet do everything till the others are caught up. PIVOTAL AA's for the necro: Pet hold and pet focus, followed by flurry. Every time you zone your necro, immediately /pet hold and /pet focus. Using this, you can make it engage, then send it to the next mob, so on and so forth, till you get a full room on it, and just watch it slaughter. You may need to toss in a heal every now and then, and the LDoN heal spell is pretty darn good at that. After a number of LDoN runs it becomes very mechanical, and the plat/aas just roll in.

As for later on, your pet can tank the *trash* mobs up to T6 with little difficulty, but any of the bosses t2+ will eat it for breakfast. Hope you enjoy your setup, necro is a very good contribution to any group with pet dps/group duration tap/group tap. Most of all, enjoy the server! :P I find people who box ~3 toons have much more fun than those who run two full groups using their naughty macros. The setup you mentioned looks good. Your choice of ranger is a little odd, but they can work if well geared, and it's good to not be 100% cookie cutter every now and then.

Edit: and yes, slow is rarely used on THF. Though there are a few donor clickies with small unresistable slows that really help. Assuming no donor items, necro's Death Stalker spell make be enough to partially offset most early tier AEs, especially if it spams the t8 group lifetap in conjunction, shaman may very well be enough to keep you alive (dru/shm single target heals are almost as good as a clerics...)
