Aviak Spirit Totem

Where does Aviak Spirit Totem drop from? My Cleric has one, but I haven't a clue where I got it. Alla Clone doesn't have a mob associated with it, but since it mentions Aviak I thought maybe the Aviak treehouse in SK might have been customized on the server? I see the levels on all the aviaks are 70+, but the entire zone seems to have been upped as well.

Anyone able to shed some light on the drop?

There is a placeholder in the tree house at the top of Aviak City indeed. But as far as I remember, it might work differently than others because his repop time is longer than usual. It pops Tweety or Mohawk I think.

Ah hah! Based on stats, is it safe to assume you need to be T4/5ish to handle the aviaks or at least the guy who drops the totem? I sure hope so cuz that's where my group stands right now. ;)

Aviaks are like Kodiaks in GD. I don't think you can handle them at t5 level though, unless donored. You surely can if you are using def disc though. Only thing is to be able to clear fast enough to get to the tree house if that's what you want.
Anyway, wipe is fun and it's your only way to find out if you can or not :)

Definitely not afraid of a few wipes! I more care if it's reasonably attainable - definitely worth a few deaths for a shot at that pet focus.

Thanks, Sian. :)

Hehe no prob. You will quickly see if you are able to handle 2 aviaks at a time with the two down the ramp, or a single one with some scattered spawn downstairs too. But if you can't handle 2, don't risk yourself up the ramp as you will often gets two or three, unless pulling with bard or so, but then you don't stand a chance to hold the named spot.
Drop rates of augs is far lower than Kodiaks and Sharks, or maybe it's because there are less spawns, but you definitly gets less augs.

Oh wow, augs as well huh. Neat, sounds like I've got some exploring to do! I knew Kodiaks in GD dropped augs... where are these sharks you speak of?

Natimbi, but don't even think of going there before t8 lol. And even then, it's a mass murder really.
You can try and you will quickly see by yourself :)

In order of difficulty, I would say Aviaks < Kodiaks < Sharks. And for the augment drop rate (considering how many spawns etc : Aviaks < Sharks < Kodiaks).
Big good thing for Kodiaks and Sharks is that each mob can pop a named at a specific spot than will always drop the augment.

Haha I got wrecked by the two birds at the bottom of the ramp... didn't pop def AA cuz as you said, if I rely on the AA to clear trash ain't no way I can take the named.

I'll come back later. Until then, the quest for a powerful pet focus continues. Thanks for the info.

webtools/spell.php?id=8511 would be the next tier of pet focus. There's the attuneable wand/1hb from world boss, also the aug from the Fennin Ro minis in Fire (might catch someone doing it and see if they don't need) after that, true minion and ancient minion from higher raid tiers (or in ancient minions case 2 buyable with points augs, one from LDON for 4500 and one from Radiant crystals if you have gear with that aug type)
