HoH + toons "desyncing"

This phenomena is happening ALOT in HoH for me. I am usually running 3 groups and I have not noticed anything like this before, since I turned off all spell/hit filters I dont get desynced much at all really - just occasionally. Except for in HoH, does anyone know why this is happening? I assume that I am not the only one who has these problems. Is there any way to fix it or do you just play the roulette and hope to get lucky? Is it a known issue that can be fixed or should I consider reducing the amount of chars?

While all issues are looked into, the desyncing issue has been a top priority for us (and the main reason we pushed forward with the code updat). While I wish we could offer you the "A,B,C step guide to stop desyncing", the best advice I can give is hold out a little longer. The Test Server will be coming online for public testing here very soon and shortly after that pushed live.

I can tell you that I have personally zoned 8 characters at a time on Test server over 300 times and only saw 1 desyncc while zoning. Not quite the same issue as you mention here, but still a major issue plauging our live code right now.

EQ is a finicky client. I used to blame THF for my woes before I went back to live and discovered it was my IP :P The fact that the client assigns random ports from the zone server, so I end up with a dozen different open ports, any number of which are impossible to predict and leave open. If there's any kind of lag between me and the raid, I hang up and the server won't update pertinent data with my client. And this is all with live servers, it's only exacerbated on emu servers! I think it's just one of those things ya have to live with (I had to address my IP blocking ports to random zone servers by connecting through a VPN)

Basically what I'm saying is, box as many toons as you box on another server in an open zone with other players that has as many scripts as HoH does (however highly optimized it may be :P) and you're going to have lag issues :P Enter lag issues on an EQ client and you're going to have desync issues.

While some of this is due to HoH, some can be mitigated by your internet set up.

In particular if you use your ISP provided router and modem combo, it is often not up to the task of handling both the internet connection and the multitude of information flowing to different sockets and different client instances. Check out this link, and part 2 for a nice and fairly inexpensive set of ideas focused on a dedicated router and a dedicated modem. Thanks to Cthulio for being the first to point out to me the advantages of this.

This hasnt helped me at least :/ I have a solid connection and router is setup properly. It seems to me after having been in the zone for a while that the desyncs happen at the purchase of an item most of the time, so when I buy an item on a toon, next mob I pull I will be desynced.
