Pet leash distance

The pet Leash distance I'm talking about here is the distance at which a PC can be from his attacking pet before the pet returns to the PC and breaks off the attack. This does seem to vary across pet classes with pet leash distance of mages, for example, being greater than for necros, and necros being greater than Beast Lords.

But it does seem to vary within classes too... one of my mages' leash distance seems greater than others. I've yet to test this with an ideal rooted but non summoning mob.

So I was wondering is there anyway to affect this in game or is it purely a server thing?

If it is purely a server thing, then if pet classes do eventually get new AAs I'd suggest one AA category would increase this leash distance.

I'll do some testing on this, but do you have a rough estimate of the leash range? Is it a couple hundred distance units or do you have to be halfway across the zone for the pet to give up? Personally, I've never had a pet give up and do this leashing behavior, so I'm totally unfamiliar with it.

Well could be something else but in chaos leashes frequently break when off the raised area.
