The Hidden Forest

Heya folks! Appreciate anyone who has some info on this topic who shares!

I am currently farming T6-T8 for my group, and have been spending a fair share of my time this past week in PoTactics. I decided to work on the quest, Battle of the Blood Raven***, while working on getting my 7 banes for Rallos Zek completed. In this time period, I managed to complete every part of this quest, except Kill ''The Wizard'' and Kill ''Rallos Zek.''

Here is my question:
Where in this zone is ''a Wizard'', the placeholder for ''The Wizard'' ? I am fairly certain I have killed every trash mob in this zone at least 5x, if not more, searching for a possible PH, but have yet to find one. Am I perhaps missing a corridor or room where he rests?

There are currently 2 locations ''A Mage'' or ''Mage of Zek'' spawns. Perhaps one of these were meant to be ''A Wizard'' / ''The Wizard'' ? If not, if anyone has completed this quest and can share any insight, it would be much appreciated

On a second, lesser note, I have banes on all of my characters (3 2hb [zerkers], 1 1hb [SK], and 3 casters [Shm,Clr,Enc], along with 3 T8 pets [SK,Shm,Zerker]) and I manage to only drop RZ to about 40% before he despawns. Most of my DPS have ~300 AA, mostly in DPS area. Is it just a numbers game at this point, as in I need more help? Or do I need to build gear on my DPS to push him down to death? Most of my toons are in HoH final stage gear atm, along with random filler slots, along with nearly max focuses. Again, any insight at all is appreciated!

Trying to type it here maybe a little hard but a wizard used to be the spawn left on the last set up steps before you make the right to a mage's area..

My last time in there farming for banes I however did not see this mob Im talking about be A wizard but just a normal wizard so he may have been removed on accident? I have completed this quest on many toons in the past though so it was complete but like I said I don't rember seeing him there either my last time through.

RZ is just a timed fight, so do all you can to max out dps make sure all toons have a bane weapon or boom stick and just give em hell.

I don't remember seeing "a Wizard" my last couple times there either. I have killed "The Wizard" in the past though but not in my last 4 or 5 trips into that zone.

As far as RZ is concerned like Beat said it is just a timed fight. It is one of the few if not the only one where simply getting better gear doesn't necessarily help. He has way more HP than most T8 or even T9 mobs or so it seems due to weapon restrictions. Farm some Type 4 weapon augs from Sol Ro Tower if you have access. Any Type 4 will do though if you don't have access or don't wish to do a lot of farming. It isn't much added damage but every bit you can squeeze out against him matters. Try and grab the T8 Draekon pets for everyone in the fight. Again it just adds more damage. You could go 1 step further and add the Aged Sarnak Channeler Staff from VP for chanter and shaman pets. It is a pretty nice pet buff which I am 99% sure lands on the T8 Draekon pet. Make sure you have boom sticks for every caster and they fire as soon as they become available.

As much as I dislike telling someone to add a toon to their squad the next step I would take is to add a Bard if willing/able. Slayers Destiny is a game changer for casters and the pet haste is pretty nice. The haste doesn't seem to affect melee anymore though . I recommend a Bard for pretty much any situation if casters and/or pets are involved. It would also add additional melee damage but also requires the most work/time of any of my other suggestions. Should you decide to add a bard for this or any other reason send Cadaveria a tell in game and I will gladly give you most of the Bard T8 Rk. 1 songs/discs. I think I have several of them in one of my banks.

Otherwise like Beat said just give him hell

The Wizard is also the last mob on my hitlist as well, and I've yet to ever see him. Killed RZ a dozen times, have gotten 1-2x bane weapons on 12+ various toons, have never seen him (that I can remember). I *think* I saw him once on one toon a loooong time ago, but not sure. I *WANT* to say that one of the "a Mage" is his PH (the one left through the door, not the one that isn't behind a door), but I'm not certain as I've had people tell me they've seen the mage named pop from both of those PH.

If no one else knows, perhaps a GM can look at it and make sure he's spawning somewhere from something? And if so, perhaps a name change for the PH? I've spent a heckuva lot of time in there as well killing everything in sight and nada. (those essences of war are rarer than a brain at a trump rally when you need one to drop, and are a 100% drop when you're just parading through killing everything in sight)

RZ is nothing but a pure numbers check. Get the bane weapon on every class and have them go full tilt the entire fight. T8 pets with the summoned RZ bane toys make a huge difference, even the Draekon pets as previously suggested. Pop one of those on everyone. Make sure they're all buffed (since most classes don't have pet affinity). I think it's designed for 2-4 groups of non donor, but 1-2 T8 Rank 3 pets with donor weapon buff put me over the top, letting me do him with 7. (War/Clr/Bard/Mage/Nec/Enc/Shm) Pop every clicky you can. If I forget to pop bard/shaman epics I probably don't make it, it's that tight. Also note that swarm pets are useless, none of them have RZ bane. I simply don't think he's close to doable by less than two groups if you don't have some donor clickies for DPS.

I am pretty sure Beatboxin and I confirmed this PH is not in game at the moment, or the PH name has changed and I just have never seen the actual named spawn.


Any chance someone else has looked into this since the original post? Not a huge deal, quest was just for fun anyways!

On the RZ note, I gave in and created 4 more accounts .. working on getting them up to speed when I have time!
