Dragon Sage 2.0 part borked

Hey guys, I'm not sure what's going on but the Dragon Sage won't interact with my enchanter, Kotabear.
I went back and talked to Irontoe again to double check and he told me yet again to go talk to the Sage. I handed the Sage all four books and got a "looks confused" emote and he handed them back.
Any advice? Thanks.

I sometimes find the npc won't respond to me. It's sometimes when I'm using the "cut down" client that I use (more than one client running) and other times not. Usually restarting the client helps.
Basically, if he doesn't respond to a hail close up, it's something up with your client.

It's worked on the same client with other characters and this one has been restarted a few times. But thank you.

I don't think it's an NPC issue, i took a flagged/completed 2.0 char to it and he responded properly with a "go away I've done everything for you" message

Does it respond to hails from Kotabear?
If so, what it says may help Lillu.
If it doesn't respond to hails, it's the same symptoms I sometimes get. I'm not sure what causes it. But it's never permanent for me.

I'm going to be taking 2 characters through the quest in about 15 mins. Will post weather it works or not.

It is working. You have to right ontop of the sage.

It's definitely not an issue with the npc. Proximity is important but when it doesn't work it isn't because of that, you can be right on top of it.
Whenever it doesn't work for me it's always only ever one client that it happens to, where all the others work fine. So it's something to do with the client, at least in my experience.
This can also happen with the 1.5 npc in Kelethin on occasion. I was always under the impression that it was because I run a number of clients with an optimised installation of EQ where something I'd removed in the global load file was causing the problem.
But the last time it happened to me I wasn't running the optimised client. It's difficult to pinpoint what exactly causes it.

All six of my clients are optimized. I've tried multiple times to get a response.
Thanks for your help guys. I will go try again.

You might need to create a second copy of EQ that isn't optimised at all. I have two copies, one for my "main", one for the rest (that copy is heavily optimised).
I'm pretty sure the conflict occurs because of that. Why it only happens to some characters and not others is the mystery.
