The End of Particles... period!

Hail all!

Fairly often, when I log in, I have to change my display settings to get rid of particles and the like. I don't know why I have to do it more than once, but technology has it's own logic, so I just get'r done and play on.

But, I'm wondering if there's a way to kill them elsewhere, so I never have to do this again? Currently I can't get rid of what I think is the donor aura, even after adjusting all that I know how to adjust. Now, I know these particles are fun and for some people make the game more interesting, but for me it just creates lag, on top of lag, with a heavy helping of more lag.

How do I permanently KIA these things?

You may change the settings to be perm in the eqclient.ini

You may change the settings to be perm in the eqclient.ini there is also commands if you look up old eq commands to simply type particleeffects off etc

I'm not a programmer, so could you be more specific?

If not I understand, I'll poke around in there and see what happens.

Put this in your eqclient-charactername (HiddenForest).ini file

Particle=FALSE

Is this a new line, or should I find one indicating =TRUE and change it?

search for particle=

if nothing exists make it, if it does exist, make sure it reads FALSE. Should be on a line all by itself.

Aye sorry you would need to disable it in the eqclient.ini it self. Guess i could been more clear with that sorry.
