Additional info about the Charm 8 quest

Here's some more about the Charm 8.0 quest.
Its not actually necessary to talk to Lilly in the Hidden Forest before going to CotW.
I took four toons, but later found out I should have taken five. I guess I did not read the wiki article closely enough. But as it turns out, a necro donor pet is as good as a fifth toon, in the right circumstances.
Don't leave any excess toons waiting in the middle of the Tentacle Room (the area where the ground spawn is). That's where the second Elite spawns.
Try not to get confused between the two boss-killing quests that are in CotW. The Charm 8 quest involves four Named (all of them named Livi`s Elite Creation) that each drop one of the four turn in items needed. The first Elite spawns upon zone creation, the second and third Elites are spawned by zone puzzles, and the fourth Elite is spawned during the Livi fight event. The Foresight of Farseer quest mini-bosses are Kraxt, Uzur, Livi and Zuru. And yes, the Livi event needed for Charm 8 is the same as the Livi event needed for Foresight of the Farseer.
Its best to completely clear areas before starting a phase. There is only one trash in the entire zone that has a respawn.
When you first zone in, Ghillie is in the next room. If you want to simplify the zone on your first attempt, you can skip hailing her at this time. You can always run back and hail her later. Like I mentioned, only one trash in the zone has a respawn. Its a static spawn the pops at the south entrance of the Incubator Room.
The first Livi's Elite Creation spawns upon instance create in the Incubator Room, and paths slowly from a point in the hallway close to the Tentacle Room, then to the west entrance to the Observatory Room and then back again.
It took me five attempts to complete the second phase (second Elite) because I interpreted the wiki walkthrough to mean that we needed to hand the "a broken piece of statue" (item 123128, 123129, 123130 or 123131) to the appropriate statue in the trophy room, which is in fact possible as the statues do have the typical 4-slot trade window (its tricky to get it, but its there). How you're actually supposed to do it is to hold the piece in your toon's cursor and then either cast Identify or click on the Architectural Analysis Device (item 123333) while standing close to the appropriate statue in the trophy room. Doing that immediately spawned the second Elite.
You know when you are standing close enough to a statue when the toon with the piece gets a green message that starts with "You spot a place...". Be aware that ALL the statues will say that when you get within range, not just the correct one. For me, I could identify which piece goes to which statue by simply reading the item info window. Also, after doing this quest several times, I found that sometimes I did have to click the analysis device. Other times, I simply passed my cursor (holding the piece) over the top of the device. There were yet another times when all I did was pick up the piece from my bag. Whichever is the case for you, you'll know that part of the quest succeeded when your toon sees a blue message that starts with "You hear a humming..".
When you read the 2nd Elite section of the wiki article, it mentions only certain incubators being green at certain times. But when you actually get to the room, you'll see that green is their natural color. The green that the article talks about is a brighter sorta neon green in the shape of a cloud in the center of the incubator. You should have no trouble telling the difference unless you have really bad cheapie laptop graphics.
The first incubator puzzle mob spawns inside the incubator, the rest spawn close to the north entrance to the Incubator Room. The second Elite will spawn in the center of the Tentacle Room.
Doing the second phase as a solo player can get tricky, because it involves manually moving toons at appropriate times and within a 20 second time frame. Using a window tiling program such as ISBoxer, or the windowtiler dll in MQEmulator gold would help. I got by without using third party tiling by using all four of my monitors. My reflexes are a bit too slow to use the task bar or Alt Tab methods.
As I mentioned above, I was able to complete the third phase (third Elite) by having my necro in a tube that was close enough to the Elite to send his pet but I would not recommend this method. And make sure you don't forget that the spyglass has to be on your toon's cursor, NOT simply in his inventory. I can guarantee things won't work otherwise. You'll know your spyglass toon has entered the proper tube when he/she gets an amber message beginning with "As you enter...". As subsequent toons enter the proper tubes, they too will get "As you enter..." and your spyglass toon will get the amber message "As (name of that toon) enters...". The third Elite will spawn at the west entrance of the observatory room, and walk to the center. While walking, he will be targetable but not hittable. When he does become hittable, he will go after one of your toons...and not necessarily your nearby tank.
The wiki section for the fourth Elite is rather sparse, so I'll fill in some info. The fourth item that you need, Elite Vitrik Feather, is dropped by the fourth Livi's Elite Creation. The spawning of this Elite is during the Livi event which is also a part of the Foresight Farseer quest.
To get the Livi event started, you have to go partially thru the Foresight Farseer quest. Its rather simple...hail the Ghillie that is at the zone in, which spawns Kraxt (kill him) which then spawns Uzur (kill her) which then spawns yet another Ghillie just inside the Livi area. When you start her chat, "Livi, the Mistress of Blight" (not to be confused with "Mistress of the Blight" who is in Deepscar`s Den) will spawn. After that, chat Ghillie again and Ghillie will slowly advance towards Lilli and eventually attack her. While Ghillie is advancing, three "a blighted Vitrik evoker" will spawn just out of agro range and advance towards you. They will ignore and pass by Ghillie. At some point after, another four evokers and the fourth Livi`s Elite Creation will spawn, ignore Ghillie and go after your group. After the mobs are dead, the last Charm 8 item will be found on the Creation. Up where Livi`s corpse is, Ghillie will be standing there but hailing her is not necessary for the Charm 8 quest. In fact, killing Livi is not necessary either, but since Ghillie does it for you anyways...
If you want, you can fight Livi with your toons too. I could see no difference either way, except for maybe a bit of xp.
Be careful during the hail Ghillie portion. I failed it 3 out of 4 of my first times. When you fail, Livi does spawn but then despawns right away and throws a taunting message. At that point, you will not be able to spawn any more mobs and will have to zone out, close that instance and start all over again. One failure was because I moved my toon a little bit away from Ghillie during the Livi spawn portion. I am not sure why the next two attempts failed...maybe I miss-clicked the wrong link in her chat, or moved just a tiny bit? But I do know that the toon to do the hailing does not have to be any particular toon, as long as it does not move and completes that whole chat phase.
I have had this phase fail seemingly because my entire group was not within close vicinity to the area...most were still down in the Observatory Room.
At this point (after you loot the fourth charm quest item from the Elite), you can zone out to the Forest and get your Charm 8. But since you've already killed three of the four mini-bosses for the Foresight Seer quest and cleared the zone, you might want to consider getting that last mini-boss Zuru and the zone boss Bixt.
Lilli, in the Forest, will not give any indication that you are doing the Charm 8 quest. Simply hand her all four pieces and that will trigger her Charm 8 chat and she will then ask for you to hand in your Exquisite Charm of Queen Adrianne. Umm...I don't know if she will accept a lower evolved Charm, and I don't know if she will transfer any augmentation.
