Foresight of Farseer quest

The Foresight of Seer quest is mostly done in the Citadel of the Worldslayer, and is a perquisite for entry into Deepscar's Den. The quest name is not mentioned in the game anywhere that I could see (it does not get entered into the Quest Journal), its only found in the wiki. There is nothing that I found in-game that gave me an understandable clue about what to do or how to complete it. However, be aware that I am terrible at these kinds of puzzles.

Begin by grouping up (if you need more than one toon) and zoning into CotW. This chat/assignment process is much like what is needed for zoning in to The Ascent...an four hour instance is created, and the only toons allowed in that instance are the toons that were in your group at the time of instance creation. You and the other toons can leave the zone and come back, as long as it has not expired. If you mess things up, you can close that instance and create a new one, but all zone-oriented progress is lost. You'll have to fight trash (or whatever) all over again.

The goal is to loot the four Foresights, as explained below.

I highly recommend that you clear the areas around each mini-boss before you start any fight. The trash in CotW seem to be rather...efficient...at causing damage when they are behind your tank.

When you zone in, there will be a Ghillie nearby in the next room. Do her chat and she will disappear and spawn Kraxt in the Trophy Room. Kraxt is rooted, has no adds, does Flurries and Wild Rampages, and casts Feranic Grasp. He also warps toons and pets to the front of him even though they are already on top of him during the fight. I don't know if this is a part of Feranic Grasp. He drops Foresight of Conquest (item 122917) and Potion of Conquest (item 9874).

Killing Kraxt will spawn Uzur in the Observatory Room. Uzur is also rooted, has no adds and Rampages. Killing Uzur will spawn a Ghillie in the Livi event area. She drops Foresight of Dominion (item 122921) and Potion of Dominion (item 9875).

Chatting Ghillie to spawn Livi is easy, but failing the event can be easy too. Any toon can chat Ghillie, but once started, that toon has to stay there and complete the chat sequence. For sure, moving your toon away from Ghillie during the chat process will fail the event and force your group to zone out, close the zone, and start over again. I believe not having the whole group in the vicinity will also fail the event, as well as having a groupie die before engaging Livi or an add. But those are just my guesses. There are so many possible flags that it can be difficult to guess exactly what triggers things.

If the event does not fail, then Ghillie (after chatting) will advance slowly towards Livi and attack. Three "a blighted Vitrik evoker" will spawn in the hallway and advance towards your toons. Ghillie and the spawns will ignore each other. At some point another wave of adds will appear, this time four "a blighted Vitrik evoker" and a Livi's Elite Creation. The spawn and advance the same as the first wave. Livi herself is rooted. Sometimes she will warp the tank to her. I don't know what triggers this. She drops Foresight of Blight (item 12995) and Potion of Blight (item 9877).

When I do this event, I try to arrange Ghillie herself to kill Livi by focusing my guys on the adds. Ghillie always had Livi dead before I killed all the adds. Usually, when one npc kills another, the corpse despawns right away but this does not happen in this event...Livi's corpse stays lootable for the usual amount of time.

When Livi dies, you then chat Ghillie which spawns Zuru. Zuru is not rooted, does Enrage, casts Will of Zuru and has three adds which appear one by one: two "a discordant ukun savage" and A Discordant Huvul Ravager. He drops Foresight of Discord (item 122929) and Potion of Discord (item 9876).

At this point, you will have all four Foresight items and so can zone out to the Vale. Continuing on by chatting Ghillie and killing Bixt is not required for this quest but I'm pretty sure it IS required for zone completion. CotW completion is a requirement for entering Deepscar`s Den.

After zoning to the Vale, hand in all four Foresights to Ghillie. This will get you her Foresight of Farseer chat. And thats it.

The day after posting this, I took my mage Jaton thru this quest and when he handed the Foresight items to Ghillie in the Hidden Vale, she handed them right back. I thought about what my other toons had done that my mage had NOT done and realized that I had forgotten to have Jaton chat with the Ghillie that spawns after Bixt is killed. So, I took my group thru yet another instance of CotW, and had Jaton chat Ghillie and get the two food items she gives. After porting out and closing the instance, Jaton was able to successfully hand in the Foresights to the Hidden Vale Ghillie.

So I guess there is flag that has to be set for the hand in. It could be simply chatting Ghillie, it could be receiving the food rewards, or maybe simply having the food items in inventory.

Ghillie (spawning after Bixt dies) grants the cotw flag so you do need to speak with her to progress.

The whole story is very much narrative driven. Flowing through the story is part of it. The introduction to it comes from speaking with Ghillie but also Azakir the Storyteller, who introduces all of the lore and back story (and actually will play a much bigger part in the lore of THF in a future update that's in development now).

The main raid progression line will continue at some point but we wanted the Farseer story to be a unique journey (so I recommend reading all of the story if that interests you).

Great write up.

One question, does Ghillie actually attack Livi? If she does, that's new. She isn't supposed to. She can't bring herself to do it.

If she does I'll have a look into it.

Well, now that I think back, I did not see any actual combat. I'm too busy watching the fight between me and the adds. Since Ghillie seems rooted, I first concentrate on the adds that attack me. I do see her advance towards Ghillie...and then I see Livi's health bar decrease. I just assumed its Ghillie. However, if Livi is somehow aggroing one of my donor pets away from the adds...but is Livi weak enough for one donor pet to solo?

I'm not sure if Livi is close enough to where I fight to be able for me to see for sure. Its so easy for this phase to fail that I did not do any fancy testing. Its too much of pain in the ass to fight all the way thru the zone just to have Livi say "ha ha you failed" or whatever that message is.

If it IS one of my donor pets, then I will have to ask you or Lillu to allow me to correct my walkthru. 8-)

I actually wanted Ghillie to help fight the adds but at the time I created the zone our server code wasn't able to properly support it. But since peterigz came along and totally owned the code that's now possible (she helps in later events in the story in T9)... Might address it one day.

I just now reread my post of Dec 15, and see I accidentally switched around some names. What it should have said is that "since it seems that LIVI is rooted, I concentrate on the adds first" and "I see Ghillie advance towards Livi".

This is why I should not make posts while tired from doing 20 hours of playing EQ. 8-P

Its also why I wish we could edit posts, even if the edit is a few days after the original posting.
