Bot Command Use

How do you get a bot to follow you? I get the following error "This command does not allow 'ActionableBot' criteria.
Ive tried:

^follow
^follow (with bot targeted)
^follow (with myself targeted)
^follow (my toon name)
^follow (my bots name)
(bot name) ^follow
and several other combinations.
