Old School Maps (EQAtlas)

Not sure if this has already been posted, but running around the old zones I wanted some better maps to reference for finding spawn spots for headhunter and generally navigating the zones (KC in particular).

I pulled the mapfiend in-game maps and installed them, but I found these only marginally useful in the zones they are most needed due to z-axis issues and general readability. Still, nice enough for most zones: http://www.mapfiend.net/index.php

The real gem, though, was that I found someone hosting a clone of EQAtlas (my wife and I still have their t-shirts from back when they were the only maps for EQ). Anyway, it's been a great help with the headhunter quest, though not all mobs are listed on the maps: http://www.eqmacwiki.com/eqatlas/atlas.html

Both for nostalgia and also clarity, I really like those old EQAtlas maps. Too bad they died off post-PoP due to the implementation of the in-game mapping system.

Rofl. I just found my binder with all my old maps from Live. too funny. I used EqAtlas for everything back in the day. I still use quite a bit here as well.

I remember when I found that site awhile back I ran a parse on them that downloaded everything to my local machine. Well worth it. EQAtlas was the best thing since swiss cheese back in the day.

But the most intense "map memories" I have was downloading a 3d map of Kedge (totally forgot where I found it, that was years ago, some fellow EQ player took probably hours to draw and use that 3d map) to learn by heart the way to Phinny and the way to Undertow for my mage epic... after learning the path by heart, I logged into EQ and tried to follow that path with my character. Hours of training, I can tell you, especially as I have a horrible bad sense of direction IRL. This 3D map of Kedge was not found on EQ atlas iirc, maybe someone used that too and reminds where it was found and who did the awesome job
