You need to use eqgame.exe patchme

"C:/Program Files/etc/etc/etc/eqgame.exe patchme"

Or maybe patchme is outside of the quotes. I forget since I don't do it that way.

It is "C:\path\to\your\Everquest\" patchme.

The patchme is not in the quotes. The quotations are only there to "escape" any shell internal commands that might exist in the filename (such as ' ' and '&' and '|' as far as *nix goes. not so sure about Windows)

i.e. A folder named Simon & Garfunkel would either be represented by "Simon & Garfunkel" or Simon\ \&\ Garfunkel

IMO always use quotations with filenames in a shell.

You don't need a THF file. What ever the directory of your EQ is all that you need. When you send eqgame to desktop and click to change properties (at least that is what I did) from the 'main folder file' you will see a Target line and it should say something like "C:\Program Files\Sony\Everquest" From this you want to a add <space>patchme to the end of that line.
If you are running vista or 7 you might need to run as admin butdepends on settings other then that it should work.

Hope this works for ya or at least helps some
