Xeru Dreadspire help

I've tried this event a few times now, and apart from being awed about the amount of hps he has I can't figure out the fight once he regens hps.

The fight goes: I lay some hurt on Xeru, then some more hurt, then I start throwing dummies at him just to try and help lower the silly amount of hps he has. At around 10% he regens back to full health. My Wizards by this point are crying from the mana they have burnt through, but keep on pushing out the DPS cause they love me, and becuase i have to clicky regen mana.

At Around 90% he keeps popping some adds, Dark skeletons, Werewolves etc etc and this is when I like to lie down and be ported back to the vale, along with all my other toons. Saves clicking something anyway.

I've tried killing the adds as they pop, but too many appear before I can clear em.
I've tried clicking the chains but this ddnt seem to help much.
I've tried burning through it but I died when the whole cast of halloween sesame street started to give me big creepy hugs.

did you take care of the the caretaker add that spawn in the middle of the room ?

Caretaker??

Maybe I need to look around a little bit. Never saw anything like a caretaker appear, but I was busy trying to get my head around why xeru needs so many HP's.

I will actively look out for something else to hit other than Xeru on the next attempt. I've started to take pics of the fights so I can look back and see what I was doing badly. On the Xeru fight all the pics I took are of me looking into Xeru's insides, so not much good.

One of the problems with boxing is, you dont tend to notice things like NPC's appearing, the world ending or anything else. I am allways concentrating on keeping alive and pressing the hurt button on the wizards.

You'll have to survive the add swarm first, before the Caretaker shows up.

Do the adds that keep popping (Dark vampires, werewolves etc) depop as long as I survive and keep my DPS on Xeru or switch to killing the adds?

I tried killing the adds, and got through just 2 or 3 of them before the room seemed to burst with all the adds, then the room got full of dead toons:(

I think i saw 4 adds pop per xeru emote, and at one point I think i counted 16 adds on me with xeru still trying to hit me.

Just need to know if I need to waste precious mana trying to clear the adds, or just keep burning Xeru. Seriously, hes got a LOT of hps as I am finding out.

Its like this; after he regen's back to 100% you have a a certain amount of time to get him to 80-85% health then caretaker spawns (I might be off on the percentage, I am usually too busy healing/tanking to notice) if you don't get him down fast enough, adds spawn that need to be off tanked, no big deal but they hit hard and the off tank will need healing to survive this... once you burn Xeru down far enough caretaker spawns in the middle of the room (rooted) and adds depop, and Xeru goes invulnerable until caretaker is killed. After caretaker is killed bring down Xeru abit more and he starts to change forms. When he changes into "the form of the first vampire" hit him with the chains of reflection to do lots of damage to him. Do this until he's dead. Watchout for his werewolf form, it hits really hard.

Slowing mobs?!?! What's this craziness you be speaking of?

yeah....it was a huge "duh" moment when DR was getting owned by him. once he was slowed, the tide changed.

Thank you for all the help. I will try again next time I am on. I might even try to remember to slow him!

Did I mention just how many HP's he seemed to have? I had 4 wizards & 4 rangers pumping out their very best and it still took me ages to kill him the 1st time around. I parsed 9 million hps on melle alone, so no idea what effect my poor wizards had with a full bar of mana burnt.

Then just as I think its all going fairly well tons of mobs spawn all over the place. Im torn between killing them or trying to burn xeru. By the time ive tried both im allready dead.
