I am trying to use a UF client to see how it compares to the Titanium client (Been using the Titanium for over a year).
Have the Steam UF download and use the THF login server.
1. Unzip the Client
2. Run the SoF-UF Installer
3. Update the Spell and description files.
4. Copy the eqhost.txt from the Titanium install folder
5. Re-install DirectX 9
6. Start client and do the Options
Client hangs at Logging in to the Server.
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Gaf

In your hosts file change the port number. If it's 5998, change to 5999 and vice versa.

Let me know what you think. Ive been using the Titanium client for 2+ years and love it, but as a backup I did the same thing you did. I just have never attempted to load it up.

UF client is only about 2^99e times better then titanium client.
I pretty much have to use eqplaynice with titanium client or I cant do anything, 3boxing, on UF I can box 7 on that machine before I see the same type of issue.

I use the SOD client. Vast improvement over Titanium. Much more stable, better boxing etc.
As Grey said, if you want to box and stay stable, run anything other than Titanium. My dps box runs 12 SOD clients without a hitch.

I have to agree with others, I'm using SoD and it works great. I tried underfoot, but the pet command changes annoyed the daylights out of me.

I originally started on THF with Titanium. Have now been using SoD for a very long time. It's vastly superior in every way. Better memory allocation, multi core utilization, no need for eqplaynice, crisper and cleaner graphics, and I can box to my hearts content and never slow down until I run out of ram. Once you use SoD+ you'll wonder why you ever used Titanium to begin with.

I actually went back to titanium after using UF. The basic difference for me was the way it handled clickies. On titanium, clickies didn't gray out your spell gems and you could chain cast spell-clicky-spell-clicky-spell-etc without any coolodown time at all. On UF, using clickies cycles my spell gems, so I have to go spell-clicky-WAIT-spell-etc. Which results in additional deaths on my healers and loss of DPS on my dps, etc. Especially on a server with so many clickies, it's a huge problem, at least for me.

I've never once had this issue with SoD. Personally have never used UF. Clickies are in fact instant with no effect on globals or spell gems.
