Necro Epic 1.5 Pet unresponsive

Grouped: Yes/No (doesn't matter)
Zone: All

Bug: Click Necro epic 1.5 staff to summon pet. Pet appears and is unresponsive to commands, does not attack or defend. Behaves like a familiar. Does not have a normal pet name "Goner,Boner,Beaslkivk, etc.." but says "Skinjob's Pet" instead.

I normally use a different pet so this came up recently when a guildmate asked me about it and he experiences the same issue.
