I will check today

update:

tested. Child of Wind double backstabs for about 524 max dmg ;)
also tested Ward of Xegony- also double backstabds
the only air pet who doesn't backstab is the very first one from level 4, due to to low level

It's been quite some time since the new pets went live.
Been testing'em a bit, they're pretty nice.

But... How about getting to the second part of the title now that the epic pet of the 1.5 (can't comment on 2.0, heh) was rendered useless by child of earth ?

I would not say its useless - both epic pets are still stronger - in tanking ability, than highest earth pet, and have almost double dps.
I was waiting for feedback on the pet changes from the mages, on the first 2 pets, and it never came =P
Personally I want to hold on it, till I done with the current work, and then look it over.

I tested a while back, actually. Would've replied earlier if my ISP wasn't going nuts early evening to midnight, preventing me to play.

Si, in tanking ??
well over a week ago, I took the earth pet to Icewell to battle againt loremaster and staff sergeant, and have no doubt he far out-tanks the epic 1.5. I took it against the kobold champion, King tranix and Magus rokyl for further testing, way better too. Heck I even considered trying Echo of Sebilis since it was doing so good.

And come on, it's a comparison between a spell dropped at icewell entrance trash and an epic...

I'm doing more testing right now, though I'm not sure if my method is pertinent :
1.5 and CoE vs temple patrollers in Ssra. Did 4 patrollers with 1.5, and now doing 3rd one with CoE. Elemental fury as only buff, no toy, no bot, and I'm doing healing support only. So far 1.5 kills them faster, but I'm convinced it's more tense to heal through the fight (1.5 enraged once after a couple nasty rounds from a patrollers). But CoE is seriously slower to dish the damage, though it's here to tank after all.

I feel like trying with my cleric bot and going all-out on nukes though.

ok you right, I was looking at the wrong pet for comparecen.
The 1.5 beats last earth pet in dps, but actualy looses to it in hp.

I will get back to this shortly

the question hwoever remain if we want to split the epic pet into 2 (1 tank and 1 dps), or keep a single universal pet. The original poll result are kind of in conclusive, as there are many people who voted against the change.

Ok Epic pets changes.

Epic pet 1.5 has been upped to the following:

-it now surpasses tanking power of last earth pet (hp,ac) AND dps power of the last air pet (min/max dmg, quadruple attack)

Epic 2.0 pet:
-even stronger than 1.5 pet (obviously)

I also changed their models to stand out from base earth/air a bit.

The changes are real time. You will only need to zone, and resummon your pet.

OK, 1.5 is a beast, just like changelog says ^^

I thought I'd suggest something about Summon orb, but it's been taken care of already it seems heh. I just wonder if it's gone for good, or if there's a plan to reintroduce it, in some nasty boss' loot table maybe ?

I am bringing Water pets in line with Air and Earth.
The water will be a monk which will take a middle place between Earth tanking and Air dps abilities, and have a special DoT which slows your target a bit (to Slow scales from 10% up to 30% at level 70)

The stats already updated in real time, and new spells will go live next reboot

I have also started experimenting with Fire Pet. Its still very week, but trying to turn in into a fire nuker support. With next reboot, it should be able to cast a new DoT and low resist nuke.

Can we get some parses from (high end) mages about Mage DPS now this class has been reviewed?

Did not see any complaints on forum since changes are live so DPs should be correct no?

At least, my concern is that I need that to balance with Wizard dps.

(Otherwise, I will waste time to PL a mage... I cannot believe that no one took the time for parses since the changes...)

Thanks to all mages to provide this feedback.

This seems kind of dead but I thought after reading every single post that I would ask...did anything ever come of making fire pets useful? Is there any reason to ever use a pet from my spell line after getting my 1.5? Since mages play a bit different than they did on live I'm curious as to if maybe I'm not maximizing my mages potential? I'm also curious as to why this died after a parse request was made? I don't know how to parse but if someone wants to hold my hand and teach me how I will gladly parse and post the results :)
