More of a player balance idea

While i understand donor items keep the server a float with the fees etc i have been thinking of a way that may help those who cant get them but still not be as good as them.

With donor items you have the 3 slot 8 aug slots with the basic 17 and 18 slots which allow you to really increase the stats above and beyond anything dropable. Which is perfectly ok seeing it is a very nice item that someone contributed to earn. Donor items should always be the best out by a long shot but this is the idea for non donor armor.

Can we add a purity system for our armor just to give it a little boost from our gear? While some purity only adds about 10-15 ac and 50-200 hp mana per slot visible armor that adds up for slots with purity effects. It is not much of a game changing boost but also allows the armor to be decently stat.

With the extra aug slots on donor armor purity should not be added in my opinion because the stats on them are far more greater then even VT armor fully auged. About 150 to 175 ac diff and about 1k to 2k hp difference per slot. Again i love the donor idea and do wish i could myself get them but just looking at a way to help the cheaper crowed who love the server and need the stats to progress. While i dont mind boxing my 6 group which ive worked very hard on to have to box more just puts little more strain on the computer then id like it to handle. So looking for a way to give us cheaper folks / not capable of boxing loads peoples a little bit of a upper edge.


I wouldnt even mind having to quest to earn the purity or augs for purity just something to help the cause.

Donor items should always be the best items in the game amd a good amount above anything dropable. They don't have 5 Aug slots except for the BP and weapons. They mostly have 3 type 8s and a type 2.

Things beyond and including T7 are not meant to be 1 grouped. They are called raid mobs for a reason. They are mostly balanced for nondonor 12 to 18 toons and not all 18 boxed by 1 person.

I understand that. But this also was not a game changer to stats even with the purity stats added to non donor armor it would not make or break if i can take a raid mob or not. But help glide things along the way. Was just a suggestion honestly i dont think they would even consider it but never know if dont ask they always say.

Way back in 2014 there was a huge revamp of high tier encounters designed to rebalance content so it was better matched to non donor guilds. We had stopped playing right about this time so we didn't get around to trying it out so I can't speak for its success but it was a big move from Lillu and Vaion to make sure that donations aren't necessary for progression here.

We're currently playing again but we won't be donating this time (not because we don't want to, we just have RL priorities these days) so it'll be really interesting to see how we do this time around (our main guild is moderately equipped with donations, not excessively but certainly enough to significantly help with the really hard stuff). We're not going to skip tiers with tokens. Aside from a few rk. I spells and platinum hand-me-downs, we're committed to progressing completely naturally, completing every tier as it was intended and with no donators.

We don't have any long term plans right now (currently we're just having fun with a single group and will see how far we get, but we're not writing off creating a raid force in future) but if we do progress through the raid tiers and if people would find it useful, I might post occasional updates as to how we've found it compared to our last outing (we'd reached T8 and were just starting on the first non-mini bosses in HoH).

I think this topic (offer alternative for non-donors) has come up a few times before and I personally think that the non-donors gear is how it should be and that there's no need for anything to change, certainly not given the revamp in 2014. But the proof will be in the pudding :)
