The Hidden Forest

When you're hide / sneak you can loot and stand back up, graphic shows you hidden, but really you are not. (if that makes any sense).

Was the same on live (at least when I played, they may have fixed it after 2001). Likely hard coded. I always viewed it as one of the penalties for looting. IIRC it is just hide which breaks, not sneak, but I could be wrong.

aye, the invis/hide breaks when looting. i remember that well- got me killed many times =)

Good thing on EQ2 - you CAN loot corpses while invised - I really liked that =)

Is there a way you can make it so graphically it will un-sneak you?

This is one of those "client features" that you always appear invisible to yourself when button is pressed, even if you not in fact not invisible. You can even see in Tips in the game if you open help section. It was Verant idea of - find out on your own if you are invised or not. Possibly, Emu coders COULD prabobly code in an option to send in client update to un-hide you when you loot (this is something that is beyond my coding skill), but they would prabobly replied- this is not Live-like

It was one of those things to balance racial hide and sneak. Races like Halflings and Dark Elves (maybe others) started with hide racially at 50, but could never go higher unless it was a class skill. When you play a racial hide character (not a rogue), you'll always get the hide parentheses above your name and it won't tell you if your hide was even a success unlike with Rogues as we get the message - not sure about failed hides with the parentheses as it never fails once capped. Same goes for sneak except Rogues can fail at capped sneak ... which sucks :p

I've just learned to re-sneak after I loot, to be honest. This, for me, is one of those "only happens once to every player" type issues.

You can occasionally forget I guess.
