Alchemy

Is it possible to allow Beastlords to do alchemy? We are a combination of a shaman and a monk, so it seems reasonable to allow us to practice that skill. I don't think it would overpower anything and it would give the possibility for some folks making potions on the server. Live can do well putting the class restrictions on since they have such a huge population.

Just a thought, I wanted to play with Alchemy as a Trade and I figured it was reasonable for a part shaman part monk to be able to elarn that skill. I don't know how it is coded obviously. :-)

would be funny if they let you do it but cap ya at 175ish =P since you are only half shaman.

Actually i never understood why only Shms do Alchemy, Gnomes tinker etc.

It's something that needs to be changed on the database side which i have no clue about.
Maybe Striat once he returns can have a look.

Spell Change -> Reload AND new Spellfile needed

Since we're an Emu, what about opening all trades to all classes? The only problem I see is that not all tradeskills are created equal ... for example alchemy and poisonmaking don't fall into the same categories as the others in that they don't contribute to you 2nd-tradeskill-cap-to-200 limitation.

I would love to be able to tinker as well. :-)

I think that it might help open up a player economy on the server. So many people have no interest in the tradeskills yet there are a number of interesting things that can be made or built.

Back when Djani was here we discussed making things with tinkering that would give flavor to your character:

Basically you could (as a Warrior) aug yourself out to be even more of a tank (AC and aggro), but the cost would be a severe cut in DPS. Or maybe you could aug yourself out to be more of a DPS tank (for example you were not going to be tanking that night at the raid) and have the cost of much lower AC/aggro.

The example of a beastlord would be maybe cutting DPS/AC to have more potent spells or vice versa. Maybe something (tinkered item which gives a buff) which grant a huge boost to your pet in everyway, but would keep you from casting anything but pet related spells - sacrificing yourself to make your pet a killing machine.

Stuff like this ... not sure if it ever got anywhere.

Personally i think it would be awesome if everyone could do alch / tinkering w/out rolling a gnome & shaman.

i have a 40gnome that i'm gonna tinker with but would rather just use petulance the wanna be tradeskiller instead.
