I searched around a bit and found that many people are having problems with this on Live as well as other EMU servers. I also saw that many people not having the issue suddenly started crashing and continued crashing after that. Who knows what's going on. haha

I only had crashes if I zoned dual-boxed chars at same time. I heard that server-client could not really handle two+ clients from same IP.

Is the login server somewhat used in the zoning process ? 'cause those LD-while-zoning are happening by periods, but it doesn't seem to be linked to server charge or to ping to server from what i've seen : sometimes i have good pings but still LD, and sometimes i have bad pings but without those zoning LDs...

Not to mention i often find the LS to be malfunctionning during those LD periods (more empty server lists, more timeout errors, etc...)

(N.B. tried both eqemu LS and private LS, doesn't seem to change much here)

Zoning more than 1 character at the same time has always been an increased chance to crash due to various reasons on the Emu. When possible, it is always best to zone only 1 character at a time, wait for them to load in and then zone the next. Doing it that way should prevent the crashes and save you time in the end. The cause could be any number of things from bandwidth to your PC stats, or even server related. The most info by far is sent while zoning, so it is many times harder on the server and the client than any other part of playing is. Lots of info is pulled from the DB, lots of info is sent over the network and lots of loading is going on with the client. Any one of those steps getting bogged down could cause the client to crash, which is why I would recommend only zoning 1 at a time. If you don't ever have this problem when zoning multiple, then continue to do it as you have. But, if you are one that has trouble zoning multiple at once, try to avoid it when possible. Obviously it can't always be avoided, but many times it can.

BTW, I quoted zeiksz, because he was mentioning the problem I was referring to, not because this message was meant directly to him. It was actually more directed at the original poster.
