Is a non-bot rogue a good idea?

Hi THF,

I discovered you over the weekend and I've become very excited to play. I've been doing a lot of reading about how things work around here and it seems that a lot of people multibox and use a bot. (I tried multiboxing and I don't think it's really for me. I prefer to get immersed in a single character.)

With that said, I think I'm ready to start my journey in this world and I'm considering playing a rogue. But I'm concerned because I see several threads suggesting that rogues make fantastic bots. The stickied bot guide even goes on about what great DPS they do.

Are rogue bots so good that player rogues aren't worth making? Would I be better of making a wizard? (My other choice, at the moment.)

Rogue bots are good because its fire and forget, they get behind the mob and backstab.

That being said i absolutely love my rogue and the dmg she does is generally chart topping if not right below our zerker for melee dps. so id say a well played rogue is > rogue bot any day of the week. Rogue bots are just nice due to the fact they have the best AI of all the bots (IMO at least).

I love my rogue as well, and a human anything is gonna be better than its bot counterpart, due to aas and clickies that bots cant use.
