Defense skills training

Wouldnt it be nice if one of the target dummies in the forest was set to always riposte? They only hit for 3 or 4 and my dodge, riposte, defense, parry skills are always abysmal on my non tank toons. And I'm lazy.

This would be good, always wanted this. In the meanwhile, you can agro a load of non-threatening (non-custom) green or light blue npcs and disarm the character. That will get the skills up quickly enough.

But that does require a bit of effort and I never find the time it would be much simpler to set all your character's to attack a riposte dummy while afk, much the same as we do to gain offensive skills, now.

I'd agree except the dummies are there for a reason; to allow afk skill training and to take out one of the less fun aspects of progression in EQ; giving you more time to.. have fun

There are lots of elements to THF that let us enjoy the game more than how Live used to be. Faster experience, not needing to buy dozens of spells, no corpse retrievals and so on. Your argument could apply to them all.

To be fair, I never asked for this feature to be put in, I just mentioned that I'm lazy and I'd love to take advantage of such a feature.

I end up dragging my powerleveled toons that have no defense skills to sebilis or plane of valor and grab a mob or two to beat on them. But it's tedious, boring, and not even really efficient. Those defense skills raise very slowly, I'd much rather be playing the game. That's why I park my melee toons in front of a dummy and leave them overnight, so I can log back on the next day and play the game.
