I was thinking of dropping some money on a SSD as well, like $180 usd for 120 gigs... or same price for 2 slower base 40gigs with a raid0 array. Anyone like the SSDs? Ever try them in an array?

The word on the streets is that EQ doesnt really require an intense graphics processor so upgrading the old one wouldnt have any benefit. What do you think about it?

I have an SSD and that really speeds up zone load times as well as overall performance. I think that if you've got a good motherboard, RAM, CPU and videocard, beefing up your SSD will only further improve performance as that can be a bottleneck.

I use an 80GB Intel SSD, I bought it about a year ago and it works great!

How about this.

$110.00usd for SATA3? cant freakin' beat it.

I couldnt use more than 60g for my programs/OS.... If I did i'd buy two and Raid0 them.
Thanks for the memories.

"Shell Shocker"

SSD for $70usd after rebate Bah, they wont give me a direct link. the SSD is on that page to left of Laptop memory.

They are noted to have stability issues because people are so used to HDDs. With cheap SSDs you shouldn't to allow your computer to go into windows sleep mode or it will "BSOD" and you will need to re-install the drive. Computers start up so fast with them that its better to just auto shut down to conserve power or just stay on.

On a side note, my Z68 mobo, I5 2500k processor and 8gig ram are being delivered tomorrow. Can't wait to load faster than 3 mins! Im hoping that the 8gig ram will satisfy my needs, if not ill double that immediately. I did not upgrade my old GeForce 8500GT vid card.... even though I can quadruple the processing power for ~$100.00usd.
Thanks for the memories.
