Like Grey mentioned, most effects that stack are based upon the slot that the effect is in.
Example A:
1: Increase Spell Crit Chance by 1%
Example B:
1: Increase Spell Crit Chance by 2%
Example C:
2: Increase Spell Crit Chance by 1%
Example D:
1: Increase Spell Crit Chance v2 by 1%
So for instance, A and B will not stack because they both share the same effect slot (1). A and C would stack because they have different effect slots (1 and 2). Additionally, some effects have v2 or v3 identifiers, which allows them to stack with everything (D would stack with A, B or C).
Now, there are some effects that use best effect overall. There is not 100% list available for them, but essentially they will always use the highest % no matter how many different effect slots you have.
Oh the fun you all are going to have in DSK3...
