It looks like SOE has been sold (http://www.theverge.com/2015/2/2/796426 ... d-daybreak).

I dont know what this means for the future of EQ Live, but I havent played that in a decade so if it's cancelled no big deal to me. It would be neat if the new EQ owners were a little more open to the "modding" community, but I'm not holding my breath.

EQ Next is never going to be released at this point =/

I'm personally pretty interested in where this can go and will be keeping an eye on their endeavors. Granted I don't think much will change since it seems that the top management/design teams didn't change or anything but sometimes a fresh start can be what a company needs.

We shall see I guess...

As for live EQ, I'm not optimistic at all. When companies change hands, it typically means ditching old projects. Although EQLive is still fairly profitable after they layed off a number of developers and shifted most of the rest to EQN.

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see what they do to EQ Live... worst case could be pretty bad for that bed best case could be lots of new content / ideas too. So hopefully best case!
