Redfang down -> finally

I first attempted this jerk about 6 months ago and failed miserably so many times that I got discouraged and quit playing on the THF for a few months. I decided to give him another try so I've been working on him this week with no success but finally got my strat down last night. Now I've only got to kill him a few more times (3 heads per kill) before I never have to see him again.

Thanks to Cunning and all those online yesterday for the advice in ooc and tells.
Most of my failures was trying to massively debuff the bats and the Frayed (tash + malo) before attempting to cast blind, root, whatever. I could never unlock them and never made any progress until I got overwhelmed and wiped (which doesnt take long). What should have clued me in is that tash is unresistable yet the Frayed were resisting it. I thought the just had ridiculous resists so I wasnt even going to attempt blind, hence failing over and over. Little did I know that nothing is going to work until you land blind first.

Woo hoo! Redfang can be a major pain in the behind, but is actually a pretty fun fight. Now you get to experience the fun of DSK2. Watch out for splinters.

Gratz brother!

The toughest part for me was finding the correct reverse damage shield spell. Koritz is a breeze compared to Redfang.

Lol... then can you help me with Koritz someday?

I've killed Redfang tons of times, but never Koritz.

Of course, my MQ2 skills are rudimentary at best, and I like to play only 6, so maybe that's it.

Anyway, congratz, I screamed the first time I downed him successfully.

I use 12 so far in Dsk1, and I need that many for Koritz. DI has saved me more than once, that fight is insane damage on one tank.

I downed redfang again this afternoon so now I've got 6 for dsk2 and I think I'll give it a go and see how I do before doing redfang two more times to flag my 2 group. I actually have 18 toons but I hate lugging around that many, I vastly prefer 6.

For me, the key to successfully doing Koritz is having a coh toon near the zone in for the clones. The dracnids at the end do hit hard, though.

So I've finally gotten to where I can beat him now w/o much trouble, after i dont know how many wipes over time. This is so weird, I''ve hated / dreaded this encounter so badly over the months but now that I dont need him I kinda miss him. Stockholm Syndrome?

I've cleared all but Xeru already in DSK2, I think the Redfang encounter is kinda unbalanced.

I'm flagging some of my noobs to scoop up rotting DSK 2 drops, and the only part about this fight that doesnt go smoothly for me is the unlocking with blind. I use my enchanter to cast Eye of Confusion and it usually takes about 3 to 5 casts for it to unlock them. The other unlock spells dont work that way for me, they all unlock the mob on first cast.

What blind spell works better than Eye of Confusion?
