AA Suggestions

Not really sure where to put this so i'll put it here and if you guys wanna move it you can. :)

Anyway, i got to thinking about it and on this server we've already got custom mobs, items, zones, spells, everything except...AAs. The AAs are the same as they were on Live. So i figured maybe we could spread the server's creativity to AAs as well. Well i'm only good at playing a Mage.... if it it doesn't summon elementals and burn mobs to the ground (literally) then i can't play it to save my life lol. So any suggestions for AAs i make would only be applicable to Mages. Soooo (GM's willing of course lol) i figured i would take the risk and go ahead and, rather than just PM a GM with suggestions for mage AAs, make a thread that people can make suggestions in for AAs they think should either be changed, expanded, or implemented for their classes :P

The most important AA that pops into my head for mages is Destructive Fury:
"Destructive Fury - Each rank of this ability increases the strength of your critical spell hits causing them to do more damage." 5 ranks. 5 points per rank.
Unfortunatly i don't know the exact percentage however i can tell you that at lvl 80 with a 4k dmg nuke (Bolt of Molten Dross) i was critting for about 19k-20k on Live with 5 ranks of this AA. So on here with our 2k dmg nukes (Bolt of Jerikor) it would probably end up capping out at ~13-14k dmg crits with 5 ranks compared to the 9k dmg it is doing now. Which may sound like over powering but i've seen Nig crit for 16k on backstabs so i don't think it's too bad lol. Oddly enough this is an Omens of War AA so you would think it would already be available here but it's not =/

Other AAs for mages i found useful:

Perfect Invisibility: "Instant cast, 2 sec reuse, 10 minute duration self only invis" 1 rank. 3 points per rank.
Group Perfect Invisibility: "Same as above with a longer reuse timer and casts on whole group." 1 rank 10 points per rank.
Companion's Blessing: "This ability grants you the ability to score a critical heal while healing your pet." 3 ranks. 3, 6 and 9 points for each rank.
Companion of Necessity: "Will summon a giant air elemental that will instantly grab the attention of ONE mob and cause that mob to wipe it's hate list upon the pet's death." Essentially summons a level 50 pet with an insane amount of single target hate generation that lasts for about 2-3 seconds then mem blurs the mob upon death. 1 rank, 20 minute reuse timer. 10 points per rank.
Fortify Companion: "A buff with about the same duration as Frenzied Burnout that, when cast on your pet, will decrease the amount of damage your pet takes from damage shields (primarily in the off-hand) as well as increases it's evasion and mitigation of melee and spell damage slightly for a short time, each rank increases the power of some of these effects." 3 ranks, 15 minute reuse timer. 4, 8, and 12 points for each rank.

So wait.. You want creative new aa's? You just posted AA's FROM live ..ya dweeb!

Also, I crit for 15090 max. Not 16k and that is with a donater weapon, it's not like your supposed to balance your crits around that... dweeb!

*Edit* On my way to school (Yes im in the computer lab waiting for an exam to start not studying because I had to post this... thanks a lot Zach!) I thought about the fact that you have a 14k hp pet, who flurries crits and now gets my bard songs! You DWEEB! Now you want your mage to crit like a rogue who is soley for dps?! DWEEB!! Haha *Edit*

So in summation. Your a dweeb.

Ok now that I have some time to sit down and write something out on a more serious note. I don't completely disagree with Mil here. I wouldn't mind seeing some custom AA's or even an expansion of the current AA's to new ranks with an extreme AA point charge for each rank.. ie.. 10.. 15..20 for something like Extra critical 1, 2, 3... etc. That's just my opinion but I think if we add anything more AA wise to increase the prowess the characters, it should be a fairly high AA point charge. I'll make a post later on the ideas I had for custom AA's when I have a little more time to write it up. Not sure if it's a possibility or not but i'll throw it out there anyway.

Good idea actually.

Combat Fury 7 8 9 could be like 10 15 20 axp points but each 1.5% increase only or something. Same for Healing Gift/Adept etc etc.

Gives people something to look forward too once maxed aas.

If we want AA's how about some AA's that increase attack cap so i wont be capped with seb gear ^.^

A more likely path would be that all ATK gear is nerfed, and the ATK cap is also risen. I agree that having capped ATK in Seb is bad, but not for the same reason :P I don't think anything should be at the current caps until late ssra or early ToV.
