Yeah no internet, the modem would light up like it should but only a few packets would come thou(100s sent VS 1s received). :x I tryed swiching around the hubs, I did the repair thing for windows, swiched hubs on my motherbord. I tryed doing a LAN with my mom's laptop, but the computers didnt see each other untill I pluged directly into my computer. Thats why I total gave up and just pluged the modem diectly into the computer.

Well this may not be an answer to your problem...
However, if you plugged two comps directly to each other using a standard Cat5 cable then you are using the wrong type of cable to connect to your router.
There are two cable that look similar to the average person...the difference is that one has the wires inside "straight through" and the other "has "cross-over" cables. What you want to use to connect to a router is straight through cables and these would not allow you to connect two comps together..they need some sort of middle device to work.
The way to check this is hold the two ends of the cable (the plastic block ends) together. (Gunna try a crude ascii graphic)

like that lol (sorry never was any good with ascii graphics)

So what you do then..is compare all of the tiny colored wires inside the clear plastic..if they are all lined up in the same color pattern/order then the wire is correct..if a couple are switched over then you are using the wrong cable to connect to your router.

Another test I do is:
Try multiple comps to go through router and a couple different cables...even the correct cable could have issues..things degrade over time or just come out of the factory defective.
