Hi,

First time to post in the forums but have been reading the forums for awhile now. i have enjoyed playing in THF it's great server i have tried EZ server and some others as well. but seems this is the place that i belong. thanks for the dev team and the members who have put their time in to making this a fun place for us.

Anyway, the reason for me to post here is for request an advise from the pro's. i have 70 mag, 54 war right now i am in the process of lvling up a cleric. what would be the best setup for a group? im planning to multibox/window for my setup.

1. Cleric
2. Warrior
3. Magician
4. BeastLord? ( For Slows and DPS)
5. Monk?

Hmm... cant remember how many members i can have in a group lol. is it 5 or 6? any advise is much apriciated.

If anyone intersted in grouping with me my characters are Tickmagi, Tikwar and Ticler just send me a tell.

You may have as many characters as you desire. If you want a single group then you would be limited to 6 characters; 5 if you want a bot to fill a spot.

What will help make a determination about the best classes for you is to know exactly what kind of content you are desiring to handle and exactly how confident you feel your abilities are to multibox a large group.

War/Mag/Clr is a good base to begin from and covers all your primary roles except maybe slows, pulling, patch heals, and offtanking. Offtanking may not be completely necessary, but again it depends on your goals. Patch heals and slows could be covered by a shaman who can also act as a low level DPS'er as needed. Your puller choices are typically bard/sk/monk, but your group may be a bit lacking on the DPS side so I personally would choose a monk even though the other two could add an offtank or really enhance the effectiveness of a group.

Knowledge of the classes also makes some classes potentially better for you than others so perhaps a bit more information would make the choice easier for you. At the very least, I hope this may give you some direction.

I highly recommend having a shaman. The best combo that I have found is warrior/monk/shaman/cleric/insertotherdpshere.

The other dps should be either another monk, a rogue, or a ranger. You could also do a bard if you want, but I haven't tested that combo myself.

The reason I don't mention casters is because, for me anyway, they are a PITA to box. They require so much attention, and with your shaman/cleric you'll already be busy. Not to mention once you get your epics then you'll have to be keeping up with 5 epic clicks a minute already.

Good luck!

It really depends on what kind of content you want to do with your group. It's entirely possible to work your way through raid content with a solid group. I currently box 3 plus a bot -

war
cleric
monk
rogue bot

I can basically do anything that doesn't require disc to tank, or anything that I can kill before disc runs out. I am planning on adding a shaman for patch heals, slows, and panther that will greatly increase the capability of my group.

Hi,

What will help make a determination about the best classes for you is to know exactly what kind of content you are desiring to handle and exactly how confident you feel your abilities are to multibox a large group.

To be honest with you i am not sure..... but my idea was to complete gearing and do some high end groupable contents and i am not intending to raid right now as i usually play from office where i will be AFK very often. my boxing skills are average currently i am only boxing 2-3 characters at a time at the moment. Also i prefer to box melee classes than having more casters as they require lot of work to do.

Knowledge of the classes also makes some classes potentially better for you than others so perhaps a bit more information would make the choice easier for you. At the very least, I hope this may give you some direction.

I have only played a SK in live server, so pretty much any character i choose is something new for me.

I highly recommend having a shaman. The best combo that I have found is warrior/monk/shaman/cleric/insertotherdpshere.

I never played a Shaman before but what would make the Shammy better DPS compared to a BST? (Please don't soot me i just dont know the classes much)

The reason I don't mention casters is because, for me anyway, they are a PITA to box. They require so much attention, and with your shaman/cleric you'll already be busy.

I totally agree on this as i only want to concentrate on WAR/MAG/CLR mainly.

The shaman will bring an incredible boost to dps in the form of buffs once you get the 65+ ones. I can tell the instant they wear off in my group.

That said, at my current stage (taking down mid ssra named), my BL is outparsing my monk by a bit. But his pet will never get any better (at least from the focus parsing I've done, it seems worthless), and that is over half his dps.

If you can, I would add both the BL and SHM. The shaman doesn't have to do too much other than buff every 10 minutes and throw out some debuffs here and there on raid targets, and the extra heals will be very beneficial if you decide to start taking on mobs with ae ramp or heavy hitters. If you want to stay with 2-3, I have found the war/bl/clr combo to work out well on other servers and should work out pretty well for you here.

This is a strong line up and easily maintained. Rangers can be AFKd with /autofire (get a nice bow from Ldon for only 750 points), the bard can be AFKd with #melody and you can focus on the warrior and healing (or even play a nicely equiped cleric bot if you want a really relaxing time :))

If you're going to play with someone else who can tank, however, I'd replace the rangers with rogues and go for a big punch.

War, Cleric, Monk is my main three, I add in Shaman and Ranger on certain occasions and "solo". So far the hardest thing I have killed with this set up "solo" is Sontalek, but I haven't brought my Shaman and Ranger into Sleeper's yet.
