An idea

I've been thinking about what will change in ToV now that theirs 2 guilds with access, and wondering how the spawns will turn out since all named are 3day re-spawn. I had an idea that could be fun. I was thinking something along the lines of a full scale PVP enable. Theirs already an NPC in thf to pvp flag your toon, and it could add some extra spice to level 70 game play if ALL of Progeny and ALL of Evolution enable their pvp flags. I think if this were to happen then THF would eventually need to be made into a safe zone though.

I'm a pvp junkie and I would love to see some pvp going on here. It would be fun to fight over aug camps, orb camps(in ToV) armor camps, etc. It adds so much to the game I think, but then again I know not everyone loves PvP. Plus, with server development on hold due to devs being busy IRL then this could keep us busy. One of the best parts of EQ for me back in the day was when I would get a new weapon or something on a raid, then get to test it out PvP. Gearing up to make mobs easier is great, but when you get to kill someone in PvP that you used to never even be able to imagine killing then it just adds so much to the experience. I was debating whether to put this just on the Evolution guild forums or to put it here, but I chose here. Let me know what you guys think!

I am one of those people. Never really saw the joy of killing someone in PvP. i feel it will lead to cockblocking...where Evolution members will beat up on Progeny and Progeny beating on Evolution...just to get to a spawn. To me this would hinder progression for at least one guild.

Unfortunately I'm also against the idea as I'm not a fan of PvP either.

A brilliant plan, simple, yet insane...

I'm sorry, but this is one of your more crazy ideas. PvP? I mean, we would be constantly training each other during raids trying to get the others to wipe, and killing alts trying to level up, and a whole host of other things I can think of but don't want to type b/c you'de think less of me...

P.S. - I'de probably think differently if charm worked on lvl 70 players...but it doesn't...

Ok well it was just a suggestion. To address some concerns though...

Cock blocking? That can already be done without pvp. We knew you were planning emp for tuesday and could have easily fielded enough to keep him dead to cock block you guys, but we didn't. It all depends on the player base really.

Now to comment on Aarcon's post, you don't need to be pvp enabled to train. If people were going to train progeny or evolution then it would have already been done. The reason it isn't done it because A) Evo/Progeny are both filled with mature members and B) If this became a habit then you would probably be banned.

Also I never meant for pre-70's to be pvp flagged because that wouldn't do anything. What fun is it killing lvl 30's at lvl 70? I wasn't suggesting a full scale server change to PVP, rather a player based change where the 70's go and turn on their pvp flag willingly.

I can see that it's not a favorite of you guys though but I thought I would bring it up anyway. I'll probly start running around with the flag on when I am not grouping/raiding with others (can't get heals/buffs from non flagged), so if anyone feels like killing Jeido then the opportunity will be there :P

PvP is something we let to be optional via the NPC in THF and GM events. That's it for now.

About raid competition.. This is a server for mature only players and so far I'm glad to see we have no exceptions at all. Keep it that way please. Anyone feel hurt about anything, just send me a tell and I'll handle it.

As a side note, Tyler is back soon, and I myself will be less busy too, so more high end game content will go live and more GM events in the near future. :)

perhaps a middle ground would be best no?, maybe add a single boss spawn like dain in the middle of rathe arena ( perma rooted and summons obviously), and put a server announcement once he reachs 80%), could make the raid a little more interesting if at the very least people accidently dump a AoE and kill their buddies lol.

Yea more will be added soonish (tm). Seriously, let me get back next week and the next highendzone (tier3) will be up and running with 10 days. Already started etc.

In the meanwhile, IF ToV is becoming a bottleneck, we can always reduce spawntime to 1.5 days etc.

I started this game on a pvp server, and played for years that way. Best time of my EQ career. However, I've come to enjoy the game as a "blue" player these past few years, and I think I find less stress in that.

Personally, I love the idea of an all out brawl. But I don't think ToV is the best meeting ground. I'd be happy to discuss a friendly battle royale as it were, old school pvp raid-style with willing members of my guild and yours, Jeido. I'd be willing to bet we'd have one HELL of a fight on our hands. Just give us time to get some ToV loot equipped beforehand. Wouldn't want it to be unfair! =P
