wish list

just stuff i think would be neat. No idea if anyone would be interested in any of it or if any of it is possible.
1. player houses - there are tons of empty "houses and rooms" around the world in vaious cities. It would be neat to donate for a personal space. Hey they put a lock on unrest basement why not houses. Houses would be open untill bought then they get locked and buying would get a key(with maybe gate clicky on it). Houses would cost more then say buying a room at an Inn somewhere or a small one room house. Larger Houses would also have a banker, sune and 1 porter for all custom and raid zones. Room at the inns would maybe have a banker, sune and porters in the common area of the Inn. or Just put a sune and porters at the bank in the zone. This would also populate the world instead of everyone going afk in hub zones lagging everyone else. ( i already have my eye on the house I want) I mean houses and rooms, I am not talking about turning a warrior, bard, etc guild halls or shops into houses. That would just be silly.

2. Pally Donator lose the heal proc clicky and get uber hate proc clicky. I truely think its currently one of the weakest donar clickies. Donator items and weapons are getting reviewed with the additions of 3.0s so I got my fingers crossed.

3. ring and shawl quests put in the game in some form on this server, or something like them. the HH quest and charm quests are like them but there is no war. I have seen the thread discussing this.

4. soulfire quest fixed. Edit: this quest is functioning , in the process of doing it now. Will inform of any bugs.

5. a quest where you HAVE to run around the world, perhaps with a mob or 3 you have to kill on the way. Another emuu server had this as a gate charm upgrade. you handed in your charm had to go around the world and back before you got the upgrade. It was super fun and helped people in this the days of porters everywhere have slearn the world and have some appreaciation for those of us that had no chioce in the matter.

anyway thats just a few of my crazy ideas floating around at the moment.

edit: oh and the OLD bazzar, how i miss that place

EQ2 had housing, which was instanced, pretty nice, and you could decorate it (with furniture, paintings, house pets etc), but only a fraction of people ever used it.
Considering our housing is just a key to the door - i am not sure why you would to drag yourself there just to go afk there, rather than in a hub zone. Even with a gate clicky to your room. Also since rooms are not instanced - anyone can follow you into your room =P

I myself Have played with idea of utilizing numerous rooms and locked doors in cities to be put in use SOMEHOW - but i just can't come up with something that people would actually WANT with them.

Old bazaar unfortunately is GONE - soe removed those files from client software when they upgraded to new bazaar during OoW/DoN era

How about allowing players to bind in the guild hall?

I dont think you can in an instanced zone.

Chaos, I just think they would be neat to have, not that its practical or possible.

well you can bind but when you use gate / die it trys to dump you in the "normal" version of the zone.
If you set GH so that buffs did not wear off and allowed binding people from multiple guilds could have a "gate to common afk" spot and I could click random buffs on them :D

well it can be done. Its pretty easy on technical side, just very time consuming. You just need to create a whole bunch of unique keys, and assign the locks to all doors in the cities, starting like with Freeport.
And key selling would have to be done through quest, so keys ids are bound to character ids.

Now you only need to convince Lillu to go through a zillion doors to identify/assign keys to them

Freeport is a slum, start with Qeynos.

Qeynos doesnt have that many rooms actualy - well maybe about 20 or so.

Lions Inn in South Qeynos, and a handful of small houses.
In North Qeynos only Ironforges estate has any rooms to speak of

but on serious note - I have been looking for SOMETHING that would give players a purpose to use a personal locked room...
I just can't seem to come up with anything - so I welcome everyone to brainstorm on the subject =)

The only thing that comes to mind is a long driven conspiracy quest, where you would need to go around the city and talk to 50 npcs, each of whom would reside inside each of these rooms, and you would need to obtain each of the keys separately to get in, to talk to them.

Or alternatively a quest where you would have to kill each npc inside the locked rooms.
In other words something to put a purpose behind getting dozens of keys.

personally i LOVED the housing system in EQ2, was one of the finer points to the game imo, daoc didnt an interesting job with it as well. unfortuantley like Chaos i cant really think of a reason to want to do something like that on this server. I do think tho that making more use of the old world cities and zones would be cool, and could add some depth to some quests and such. more than just having to run around looking for a ground drop (sorry vaion but i HATE ground drops now)

some sort of legacy quests perhaps ala eq2? (w/e they were called, where u could do the quests for the SBH or Jboots or w/e) using npcs available only behind locked doors, that would require a key gotten from another npc in the city or something. Could also use the locked rooms as a way to reduce lag in hub zones, since u can bind in those cities still, throw a basic porter in a few of the rooms, or a buffer in the inn, and perhaps could see a bit of a revitalization of cities (personally id love to see THF's hub zone in a city as opposed to where it is now 8) )

yeah they were called Legendary quests. sort of like eq1 Fabled (re usage of old times famous item) - except result of a long quest rather than drop.

I too few times proposed to move the hub into a city, and scatter the npcs around - I was proposing Erudin Palace - it has nice royal look in marble. But Lillu insists the current hub ties well with server Name - Hidden Forest - and using a city would not tie in. :P
