Lore on Order and Chaos

I wrote some lore on the Order and Chaos factions, if you haven't already.


Order and Chaos. These are the two factions that you will run into the most around the Hidden Forest. Which seems fit to you? What will guide your decision into choosing between the two? So far, the number of followers for both is at a minimal. But you can see it on the horizon... more and more people are soon coming to the light, and coming to the darkness the same.

Legend tells of a time where Frogloks were once a whole. They reined over the fine city of Guk. But one day..... a dragon named Trakanon flew overhead, sending word of a greater destiny in a far away land, on the island of Kunark. Many fled Guk to go follow this mysterious dragon.... but then again, many stayed.

This was the first of many events to come forth, and separate the two groups as a whole, into a smoldering ruin. The event to cause the most problems between the two, though, was the Sebilitian Inquisition. Many of the frogloks started acting strange in their town of Sebilis. Shattering bridges, destroying buildings and turning them into ruins in some places. Soon, this became a problem, and they started seeing more and more monsters joining them, taking over the city as if it were a city of the damned.

Word of this reached our friends in Guk, and they started to scream and panic. Their friends, and even some of their siblings, have been changed into a fiend that cannot be stopped. To this day, this war of peace and prosperity still haunts the two factions of frogloks, and it shall be this way for a great length of time. Now, ask yourself. Are you ready to fight for your cause? Are you ready to choose between Order and Chaos? It is time, adventurer, for you to choose your path. Remember..... choose wisely.

Looks good. Little confused on the part about frogloks "fleeing" to guk to "follow" trakanon, maybe just needs to be clarified on that one sentence

This is the original EQ lore about guk. Not saying you have to follow it, but since a lot of the world of EQ is based on original EQ Lore, if you can try to maintain that which is already established and slightly build onto it, like you know the creation eras, the

o The Age of Blood
o The Lost Age
o The Age of Enlightenment
o The Age of Turmoil
We could potentitally be hitting a new age after the creation and the eras of how original Everquest was, prior to the plane of time (since lore gets really whacked at that), we are at the Age of Order and Chaos, kind of a split time lime of what live EQ ended up like. EQ2 is also a split time line of live EQ btw, but if you keep in line with original lore and build on it, it helps fill the gaps for like who and what most monsters are, etc.. Though right now, it isn't like there's that life long hatred between King Tormax and Lord Yelinak anymore, so we are hurting quite a bit of lore.. Who knows we could potentially repair some of it though and curve it to our likings.

The lore that I created in my head while playing through the various zones and quests is not that the frogloks themselves turned into creatures, but that both factions briefly dabbled with dark arts and actually attempted to harness beings that they could not control. All for the sake of glorious victory over their enemy. This, to me, fits the destruction inside of Sebilis.

This also suggests a 3rd faction. Some unseen sinister force who is guiding events and using the frogloks as mere puppets. Perhaps this sinister force only needed the frogloks very briefly, and their goals have nothing to do with either faction; they merely enjoy watching Norrath being smashed to pieces.

As a side note, wouldn't it be cool to witness both factions becoming allies for a short period in order to lay siege to the realm of this sinister being? Hah. Maybe a concept for a scripted raid event.=P

Seems fine to me. They fled Guk, not fled to Guk.

I think our scope may be too narrow here. We're not talking about just Frogloks in terms of order/chaos ... but the City of Mist, Kobolds, Nagafen, Valorians, Aerin`Dar, Unicorns, and agents of Chaos/Order who have infiltrated other zones (1.5 non-unicorn mobs).

Also, if this will be a server backstory, we'll need to eventually include Emp Ssra who opens ToV ... also needs to include the keying process into ST and why go to ST at all? I agree with Kilmer - we need a bigger picture.

Also yes - greater powered (3rd yet to be disclosed race/power) offered frogs unbelievable power if they joined their side.

Chaos same as Order. The result is that Trakanon made a pact with Order while the Froglok Knight and King sided with Chaos.

I wrote down all the exact things but actually cannot find it lol. So if you want to write a story about this - this is what i had in mind.

Obviously, the Frogs are kind of ripped off, hence the Armor sets called the Fallen, Helpless etc.

Would be nice if the story would evolve round these corner stones -

Emperer SSra was strong enough to withstand the strong offer from both Chaos and Order - hence none of this faction in ssra. Emperor was/is allied with Vulak tho, Dragons and Snakes work together on a different plane of existence. That's why Emperor holds the key to the Temple.

The dragons themselves tried to awake Veeshan but instead created the Sleeper. Jaled Dar tells something about this. You are asked to help out to make sure that the Sleeper is kept either in his Jail or at dead once you kill the warders. Sleeper must not exit Sleepers Tomb.

Now who tricked the Frogs into followers of Chaos and Order? You will find out eventually!
