Just bought Servant of Ro 6/6 on my mage, and when using it get the error "Unable to find data for pet ServantRo4"

I get this as well. Any fix?

Not yet I guess, we'll look into it.

It looks like some unsupported ranks were merged in from the eqemu a while back. They will be disabled for the time being until they are actually implemented. Also, since they aren't custom swarm pets, the value of these AAs would be none to zero ATM.

Sorry to bump that thread, but yes, I can confirm what Lillu said, Servant of Ro, which on live is a good dps AA for mages, is useless here on THF because it jumps into melee for pitiful values instead of rooting itself and hurling low resist bolts at the target (which is the way it works on live).

I know on another emu server they made it work as on live and just upped the damage of the bolts (and the hps of "Flappy" to survive customized raid aoes) to match the content, I have of course no clue if this means it would be easier to fix as to create something out of nothing (see CoN thread).

I love that you wrote this, Adon! I've found that many of the things on live that aren't here on THF just force me to learn to play my character in different ways. Because of this, I'm not just experiencing new custom content, but also discovering new aspects of character classes I love, and those I never tried. Whether it's AA's, as in this case, or some other function that the Dev's have installed here that changes the live experience, each nuance brings new learning, and new fun.

Of course, I was a Druid before I was an SK, so my ACTUAL knowledge of the game has always been limited to "hug a tree and hack and smash!"

Yes, exactly, thanks for your nice and smart comment It is the same for me, I have to play Adon differently too and develop creative new things I could not do on live, but on the other hand I sacrifice tools I always had ore relied on on live. Globally, regarding the mage, I would say he has less defensive emergency options compared to live especially in the AA department, but of course the pet is relatively speaking much stronger.
