Hard Assassinate NPC

This could be that I am mistaking how the NPCs work but I was under the impression you could only get the LDoN type from the particularly named NPC (even though the drop down gives you mutliple options).

Anyways - The Hard LDoN Assassinate NPC seems to give a rescue (only the one that ive noticed) occasionally. I am not positive however by reading the text I don't see how it would not be a rescue. Not keen on rescues, so never taken it to try.

The text for the mission is as follows:

"Hail, adventurer! A tattered letter has just arrived for you from Lesser Faydark and asks for you by name! I wonder who it is from, please take this. "Help me! My name is Octavius and I've been captured by vampires! They have been doing strange experiments on the others imprisoned here and I fear I may be next. Please hurry and rescue me before it is too late!" Once you and your group are ready, the fairy, Abely, will help you find your way.

Ive had same problem.

The last LDON hard that I did (assassinate) after I killed the boss he poofed and I didnt get credit for the completion. Not sure if thats a common thing or simply a once in a blue glitch as I have never gotten that far before.
