you came to the us for health care /boggle. something like 70 % of americans that work full time still cant afford to get health care.

perfect example im a certified nursing assist II in oregon i work in a long term care facility (medspeak for nursing home) and out of 40 ish employees maybe 4 of them actually have healthcare of some kind. i go mine from my SECOND job which i work at part time cus its unionized

recent studies have shown that US government puts 5 times as much money towards health care PER PERSON than Germany does, and only covers them at 20% the amount, than in Germany.
Why? Simple- the price of medicine in US has been gouged up for decades. Have the the doctors salaries? A simple visit for a itsy-bitsy office for a 10 min test - ends up with $500-1200 on your bill.
Same goes for the over-the-counter drugs. The simple cheap drugs, are forced out of the pharmacies by the big fancy brands with widely advertised names, which do the same thing, but at 5x times the price. And the prescription drugs - ouch - those rank in HUNDREDS. And you know what is a manufacturing price for them? Cents.

In other words- if you want perfect health care - you should move to Finland or Sweden ;)

FYI, I'm an American and I've already had one child born in Ukraine under their healthcare system. When you've experienced that yourself, then you can judge me :)

i apoligize if i seemed judgemental. the power of the written word does not sadly always easily contain the intent of sarcastic subtext. and i was under the impression that you had come as a ukrainian national to the us to have the child which while i would be someone surprised i was being rather more sarcastic then intending to offend of appear to be judgemental.

im also guilty of having been very tired at the time of the post and unless im mistaken missing the spirit of the thing period.

CONGRATULATIONS YOU OLE HORNDOG having kids is awesome....i love mine to death and daily wonder if they can still amaze me. it is amazing to watch them grow especially when you look back and remember what they were like when they were younger. ive got two girls and watching one go from a girl into young womanhood is almost frightening at times because it reminds me all to soon how i may end up living in a nursing home instead of working in one.

to be sure though if you ever have a need to see or understand more the reasoning behind my view of the american healthcare system....just pick a nursing home....any one will do.....even the ones that appear to be top of the line and spend a few days work shadowing a cna or nurse to see the kind of things that happen. there are some truly gifted people working in there but there are some too that should be locked up and beaten for life.
