Vex Thal access quest

There is a potential bottleneck problem in Maiden's Eye for VT access. The named that drop the shard seem fairly rare and they don't drop the shard very often. In the other 8 zones, the shard was obtained in one or two round of spawns. Now on the 10th-11th round in Maidens and we have one shard so far.

Is it possible to increase the chance of the named to spawn and bring it more in line with the other zones. Or is it working as designed?

Thank you

I made a few modifications to how rare the nameds are to help with the bottleneck in maidens some. However there are a few intended/designed bottlenecks with the quest :)

Kelera Shard could use some love.

Sanctus Seru has a number of mobs, however, very low drop rate when compared to the other zones. T8-9 equipped toons running around killing white mobs for hours is not that fun. My current session is 2 hours = 0 shards.

Katta Castellum you cannot zone into any longer. Get the "You are not experienced enough to enter plane" etc. Was hoping to try there to see if the drop rate was better.

Some shards meant to be more rare than others. I think we could adjust some mob stats to make it 'more fun' killing them but even in original EQ, some camps are just like that, the fun part is when you loot the item. :)

I like that idea. We were talking about that in Guild last night. I vote for slightly harder than Kodiaks/Aviaks =) As the zones stand right now my chanter soloed everything and is almost finished with the quest.

There's a spawn in ME (at the prophet camp) that is spawning underground. roughly -1400, -500, -150

It is definitely early into the Vex Thal era, but enhancing the difficulty of the mobs to around the Aviak/Kodiaks would be cool. Add some cashola on them so you hear a cha-ching and we would be golden. The problem is that they are cleared so quick that you just sit around. This way, you can have a time of it and slow down the clears.

Making them more appealing from a cash/difficulty point of view isn't a bad idea. Especially the fact that you could use more time to clean them. But if you need more time to clean them, it makes an even longer camping time to get your VT key part (especially if you box as 3/4 of the population now).
So making them harder, with more cash, yeah. But then drop rate should be raised on few spots I believe.
Better giving some time the way it is now and see how it goes.

Would like to back up Galdace statement about seru shard. Its really really painful. Guildmate spent 5h to get one. I spent 3h killing upper mobs and those who were downstairs too. Even if it is meant to be rare like live, considering that people box. Spending at least 3h to loot one shard for one toon is pretty low since you have to multiple it by the number of toons. It will also mean that many people will get stuck at that point for a long long time. Maybe you could push the drop to 4 or 5% instead of two ? Other zones are fine.
Please please.

Are there supposed to be grimling prison guards in Acrylia? According to Alla it's one of the mobs that can drop the shard but in 9-10 hours there have not seen any. So far, 7 shards in that many hours seem slows but on par with SSRA for me anyway. I was able to get 20 shards in The Deep while getting 3 in SSRA in the same time period (5 in ME with one camp). Sanctus Seru and ME we relatively painless compared to those two.
