Idea for new zones...

I know you guys are already busy with what your doing, tweaking mobs, fixing bugs, adding new zones, etc... but I was thinking of dungeons I have never seen used on any other EQMU server, the one's from LDoN.
The dungeons from LDoN are very linear, you could throw in a custom population in them, maybe unique armor (mist, frost, earth, sand, blood) from each of the 5 different themes (Guk, Mir, Ruj, Tak, MMC). Maybe put a few quests like kill # of mobs or progressively harder bosses at the end of each one and if your group/guild can beat them all, you get some sort of reward.
Anyway, just a thought, I like the uniqueness of this server and just trying to think of something new and out of the box...

The armor idea sounds very good, but also very time consuming for gm's. Would be cool to see something like this to go into effect though..

Well, I hope it's a good news. The planned (unique!) Treasure Hunt quests/missions will involve these zones! These missions will make up a big quest line, from lvl 30+ up to 70+..and I have a lot of idea about them already.. I'll work on these soon, but atm much more on the top of the priority list. But once again, you guys will se these zones quite a lot, and in a "new" way. hopefully soon.

new armor sets arent planned atm.. there are and will be too many already with Keal and ToV too.

Just had a brief thought for another zone idea. I never really played in them, but I remember there are certain zones which had wars going on within them. The only one which comes to mind was Hollowshade, but I could be wrong on that.
Any ways, I've not gone any further in the server "lore" than Guk/Sebilis, much less completed more on the epic 1.5 than the first step (not sure how it ends of even if it does), however perhaps this could be something to expand the chaos/order conflict going on.
Sorry I can't do my research like I would normally. I was lucky to borrow the college admin's laptop to have free internet access for a bit - hurray for friends! If this doesn't make complete sense, I do some research and expand my ideas on Monday.

Here is another idea for a new, unused, unique zone and a way to implement it...
The Plane of War.
This zone is great, it is like a huge arena that was never populated with mobs. SOE was going to have RZ spawn here, but changed him back to spawning in Drunder.
Picture zoning into the PoWar on the edge of the vast empty battlefield. The only other NPC in the whole zone is in the middle, a level 1 'Child of Rallos Zek'. Hailing him would give some back story about how he wants to be like his father and someday rule. Of course that means he is going to need some experience, and that means your going to have to keep him alive so he can get some battle experience. Think ring of fire, after a series of waves a boss comes out that drops loot. If the child dies during the wave, no boss pops and no loot. If the party/raid survives the round with child in tack, then he gains a few levels in strength and a new round begins.
And since this place is huge, you wouldn't be confined to have just small orcs or razorfins, you could have an army of giant sized halflings, the SK skellys on horseback from TT, have one wave all the boss mobs from Vex Thall (with Aten being supersized), then all the gods from PoTimeb for the next (Quarm could be sized to take up half the pit, that be kool).
I'm thinking at the end of 15 or 20 waves, the 'Child of Rallos Zek' has grown from his level 1 self into 'The Heir of Rallos Zek', a level 80 supermob that thinks it can take out anything, starting with your raid. Beating him would get ppl a new title and crazy loot.
Anyway, this zone could also be used for groups wanting to test their metal. Augs and loot would drop off of the boss at the end of each wave, and probably the first 4 or 5 rounds would be doable by a good group. A full blow raid would be needed to see if they can get the child all the way to level 80 (and then fight him for some uber loot, think dainx2).
Let me know what you think and if this is even doable...

Thanks for the nice input! I already checked this zone, and it's definately a good zone for events. Will keep this in mind.
About the waves of mobs, it is also a good idea, and we'll surelly do something like that lateron. The only problem is (without getting into too much details) is that mobs has 2 type, one has a visual which is local to specific zones and others are global. Only mobs with global visuals can be used at any zones. So this zone like any other has a set of limitid mob visual we can use plus the global ones.
Mushrooms and fairies are all global models but you probably noticed that..

It's a create idea I think, but Lillu you're right about the global races. Isn't it possible to make a custom chr file or whatever it is that holds the races of that zone, and have it include the races you want? Noone ever goes to PoWar on other servers (except zeb), so I dont think anyone who is high lvl would mind. And if they do, well they can enjoy fighting a bunch of humans!

One more idea for new zone....
Picture this...
After many years of fighting the Kobolds of Gloomingdeep, Aris and his followers are victorious in liberating everyone and getting rid of the threat for the last time. But, it was at a terrible price. It seems that Aris enlisted the support of the necromancers' guild and they in turn opened a portal to the Demiplane of Blood, releasing many high level undead creatures into the caves. It is up to you and your party/guild to stop the undead onslaught from taking over the world!
I was thinking this could be a level 70 fun zone for the pally, cleric, necro, and SK (good vs undead). Heavy on quests that give rewards just above Seb quality but not has good as Ssishar or ToV. Rare random drops, bosses drop augs, and quests reward with undead bane weapons and perhaps unique armor.
I think most undead models are global, and this zone isn't huge like the DreadLands or something like that, so hopefully there would be little lagg.
