The Hidden Forest

Ok, so I have this odd problem I've been having lately. I think I finally nailed down the "why" it is happening so I'm finally posting about it. If I'm two boxing and things go sour, usually my cleric ends up eating a death, but I disc on the Rogue and gate out. However, if that was a summoning mob, most (maybe all?) of the time I gate, leave zone, but come back right where I was standing and don't go back to THF. Sometimes it is ok because the mob I was fighting has left, but sometimes he is still there and I get thwacked anyways.

This ONLY happens with my Rogue and ONLY when I was fighting, disc'd, gated. If needed I might be able to recreate this for any Dev wishing to observe.

So I have a couple ideas ...

1) Has something to do with the mob's ability to summon? I can't recall a time that I've been mid-fight though with a non-summoning mob and had to gate though ... preliminary testing on non-summoning mobs has worked fine.

2) Has something to do with me discing with counterattack disc?

Too odd for my taste - i leave this up for the pros

My current theory on this is if you gate and when you left you died, it does an erroneous zone since you "died" while zoning and it for whatever reasons returns you where the death occured instead of gating you to home point.. but that's 100% speculation. You didn't really die, but there's a sync issue and it's coming with the ultimatum to just put you back where you gated from.

I've had this happen too when I get in an oh shit situation with my rogue, pop disc nimbleness, and gate while doing so.

Not sure if you meant I would have died, but I gate with well over half life sometimes. Unless the disc "records" the damage and then applies it or whatever if I zone before the disc runs out ...

Here's a question: Were you the last one to leave zone when this bug occured?

On the more recent instance, yes, Jerant died and Hans gated while discing. Unfortunately, I can't recall the times before that.

On a related note, I had the misfortune to test this the other day while spelunking in Chardok and it didn't happen (gated normal). I was the only one in zone.

Happened to Tankzor while using furious discipline (auto riposte) on named in WToV (ae dispelled chanter pet, killed cleric, was downhill after that). Clicked furious, cast gate, started zoning, ended up back in front of the named dragon, and promptly got eaten.

Glad to know I'm not alone!
