Newer revision

Greetings. Is there any plan (even distant down the road) to update to a newer revision of EQEmu or do you guys plan to keep it as it is. Reason I ask is because Lillu told me my SoF client is spamming unknown opcodes and our assumption was that my SoF client isn't too compatible with the server.

Just curious as I like using the SoF client and I absolutely love this server.

SoF is still very new in the history of EQ EMu and SoF related bugs are fixed like every revision. In the long term, we will most likely migrate to SoF (if i ever can find a cheap copy somewhere in the euro zone to test it). Don't hold your breath tho, its going to be a bit. Plus, we need to migrate all our custom content to it, too.

I also live in Europe and had to get my family members in the USA to send me a copy. To date I have not found anyone who would ship it internationally. Amazon has been known to do it on occasion, but at the time I checked they refused. It could be possible to get someone to send it overseas if you talk directly to their customer service - I did that once for a baby tent since you just can't find things like that over here.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, Tyler. Though I enjoy the SoF client (it fixes one of my ui skin bugs!) I thoroughly enjoy your server and will gladly use the Titanium client. Great job on making this place an awesome place to be.

By the way, where is the server located? My ping is great!

SoF is for sure one of our biggest plan to implement. I personally would love it. It opens up many many possibilities for itemization, zone and content design, etc.
I would say as soon as it runs steady and still preserves full compatibility with titanium clients, we will update the server.

But for now, we are looking for a way to be able to keep up with the newest revs, still preserv our custom content. Unfortunately this is not trival nor easy to do. I'm in contact with Striat daily about the possibilities. As a side note, we might try server code customization too to fix bot issues in the future. But that will make updates even more complicated.

Server is in Hungary, and soon we'll have a line and a huge hardware upgrade too..
