Help with Raiding in ToV

I'm new to the whole raiding scene. I'm just starting on some names in ToV and would like to know if there is a guide already created that can give a little bit more information about how difficult these names are.

Haven't seen a guide.

I assume you have two healers, and if one is a shaman the shaman donator clicky is invaluable for it's 1500 point group regen (completely nullifies most rampage damage in TOV if melee chars have defensive aa's)

East and West wing first to get T2 armour pieces. Steer clear of Dozekar and the west wing named unless you feel like giving them a try. Dozekar is pretty hard without lots of healing or high AC, with a cleric/sham healing I found him doable once my tank got fully T2 armoured and with a bard MR song playing to cap resists (he's much easier with max MR). The hardest of the east/west bosses is probably the white dragon in west, I forget her name. The red one is pretty easy but doesn't have much in the way of useful gear. You need Lendinara to get the NTOV key, she is not too hard to tank once geared with armour but may test mana reserves on your healers. You can hide healers in several places, and if you lack shaman donator I think you can hide melee from the AE around the steps somewhere. If you have shaman donator you really only need to heal the tank.

Once you've got all your armour pieces, you should be able to kill Iki and Eashen. If you can't kill Ayronnar you have a couple of options. The twins are pretty easy to kill compared to any of the others, to the point where if you have full TOV gear and augs you may not need to heal the tank more than once or twice during a 5 minute fight. The next easiest is Lady Nedevira (spelling?) who drops a COH orb amongst other pieces, including some handy group haste clicky gloves. Apparently the orb is rare but I found it about 1 in every 3 kills. Vulak used to be quite difficult but is much easier now as his AE is quite weak. Again if you have shaman donator you mainly need to heal the tank. No real tactics required for Vulak anymore. The rest of the named are are much of a muchness in terms of difficulty, with the exception of Dagarn the destroyer and Lord Vyemm(?) - Not sure if I have the right name but I mean the first dragon to the left of Aryonnar. Dagarn has very few HP, but hits very hard and rampages constantly. It's almost worth soloing him with a tank unless you have ranged damage. Vyemm (if that's the right name) hits almost as hard and has plenty of HP. I found it hard to keep a tank alive with 2 healers in full TOV gear against him, and didn't bother to kill him until much later in progression because he doesn't have any critical loot.

If you cannot kill any of the harder TOV named, and you ahve all of the TOV armour pieces but not augs, you can get the TOV augs from named dragons outside TOV in West Wastes (including the nesting ones). They are all pretty easy, and as a bonus drop frozen tear fragments you will need for epic 2.0's. Once fully armoured and Aug'd, you should be able to single group every named in TOV without much difficulty.

Key things to success with a single group, are 2 healers and some sort of group heal. I recommend Shaman donator.. but SK donator, Pally group heals, or a bottomless pool of cleric mana (there is a donator wrist clicky which has a 1 min refresh instant cast gather mana II) and liberal use of word of vivification will suffice.

Hi lazylob,

I don't know about a formal guide, but here's a quick overview of what to expect.

The zone is divided into three major sections, the zone splits off into these sections from the hub just after Arreken Skyward:

    East ToV
    West ToV
    North ToV

East ToV: East ToV is populated with trash mobs that drop the Glowing Drake Orbs (part of the ToV armor quest), the nameds drop 2 Symbols (e.g. Ruby Symbol, Silver Symbol etc et al). The nameds in East ToV are the least powerful and easiest to kill.

West ToV: West ToV has 3 named dragons, Gozzrem, Telkorenar and Lendiniara the Keeper - the last being the one who drops the key to North ToV (Passkey of Many Treasures, neck item). These dragons are more challenging than the ones in East ToV, but not as difficult as the North ToV dragons. The trash in West ToV has a change to drop Ancient Tarnished armor pieces, which you hand in with 1 Glowing Drake Orb and 2 Symbols for the ToV armor quests - Jeido posted a great guide describing which symbols are used for each piece, you can find it here. The other named dragons drop different pieces of jewelry and weapons.

North ToV: By far, the most challenging of the three wings. Only one person needs the key from West ToV to open the door to North ToV. Many of the named dragons (and even some of the trash) are hasted, and seemed to be immune or highly resistant to slow*. Many of the nameds in North ToV count toward the Epic 2.0 quest, and given the increased difficulty, it's recommended that you spend some time in East and West ToV and get your party geared up before you attempt the North wing.

I know this isn't much of a guide, but I hope it helps give you an idea of what drops from where and how you might progress through it! Good Luck!

*Disclaimer: I'm speaking from my own experience, yours might be different.

Jeido's looks pretty accurate for solid raid tactics where you haven't patiently farmed gear for all chars.

TOV was toned down significantly since it was written though, so while the tactics are solid the required # of chars is high.

Both pre and post changes, many of the AE's he covers are avoidable with a bard or negateable with positioning of healers and use of some type of constant group heal.

Thanks for all of the replies. I have been clearing EToV and WToV for a week or so now to gear up my guys. I tried Gozzrem last night and he completely wiped us but by the sound of it he is one of the hardest names I could of picked to try. I am trying to go through the progression without getting any donator items so I definitely can use all the help I can get.

Just FYI – I’ve added an additional post with some things that may have changed @ the bottom of my ToV guide. If I missed anything, feel free to add it there. If we’re lucky then it will get stickied!
