Request: Ele Armor Regeants

Can you make an NPC that'll allow you to swap the silks/leathers/chains/metals? For example, you hand the NPC 1 leather, he returns a chain. You hand a chain, he returns a metal. You hand him a metal, he hands you a silk. Silk gives you leather, and it's a never ending cycle like that. They're trade able, which is nice, but theirs not a big population of high end raiders to bargain with unfortunately.

I'm just hoping we dont get another bottleneck armor quest like ToV ended up being >< It's bad enough that the combines fail often (Ienjoypie failed two combines, he has 240 blacksmithing skill and all of the AA).

Thanks for considering it!

I know what you mean but not really. PoFire is also an exp zone and over time many of these will show up and may offer some of the lesser people the chance to trade for some of the ornate patterns etc.

Hate to be the one to say it, but XP in PoFire is crap compared to most other zones (especially) PoValor. Povalor I am able to grind out an aa every 2-3 minutes on my monk, in pofire i'd be lucky to get 20-30% aa 2-3 min! The HP is really high and theirs not really enough of an xp mod to make up for it. I know that theirs a higher xp modifier in pofire (4x i think?) but still..

My point is, I can't see anyone killing in PoFire other than to just grind out these items. I see what you're saying about the patterns, but idk. It was just a suggestion anyway. I'm just worried that lots of people won't even bother doing their armor quests because of how hard it is to get the pieces you need. I was in PoFire for a good 3 hours, maybe 4, slaughtering field 1 (all of it) for that whole time. I only got about 11 metals, 8 leather, 8-9 chain and about 8 silk. To get a full suit you need 32 and that's if you don't fail :P

On the other hand though, I see what you mean with trading and it's good to allow more player interaction. Could you lower the fail rate on the blacksmithing part a bit if you dont think that adding the NPC is a good idea?

based on these numbers, you'll get a full suite of tirer 4 armor ingredients in 12 hours.. thats too time consuming?

That's assuming that you have a 4 man group with 1 plate, 1 chain, 1 leather, and 1 silk member in the group. This is never the case, and plate/chain are the most common characters by far. This means that it would take 1 group (since you need a tank and a healer to kill efficiently) 24 hours of non stop killing just to get their 2 members the part of the recipe which is likely to fail.

I think you hate us Lillu! You want us to suffer countless hours of smashing spiders and jopals lol. I'm not asking for much, I even reduced it to just making the recipes less-likely to fail (maybe 250 or 275 trivial). I understand it's really good armor, but keep in mind that you already need to field a full ToV/ST geared raid just to get the drops from the raid named. It's very discouraging (ask sarcon) to farm pofire for 1-2 hours, have a blacksmith with high skill try a combine only to have them both fail ><.

I'll look into the recipes and see if we can lower it a bit.

My brother and I have been farming fire as well, we are trying to use it as an upgrade step from icewell gear. The lack of AA xp is balanced by the huge upgrade the gear will give us.

From my experience in fire it is going to take us a very long time to gear through it, which is OK with me. I would like to suggest an alternative method to increase the drop rate just a tad, add some increased success chance for named mobs to also drop a component. Because the named mobs are already on long timers its not going to give someone who can flatten the area a huge advantage. This will also encourage people to continue killing named mobs after they have acquired all of the other drops drops from them.

Really enjoy the zone, the roamers and assist ranges are well balanced, makes for fun pulling. Also due to our very slow kill rate, we got 2 plate drops in 3 hours of grinding.

Yeah it's gotta be rough, but the gear is definitely worth it for lesser geared I think. The quality of the loot is on par with tier 1 raids, yet the stuff is 1 groupable. Sounds like it's balanced, but it just requires patience. I don't know if I would have that patience though!

Pie is now 0/3 on combines, he's at 270 or 280 skill with his +15% BS gloves and has all the aa...

Imo hold off on combines until you see me announce it has been changed.

I wanted it to be hard (not like Epic 2.5 where someone with 3 skill points + aas could do the combine) but not that hard.
