I cant click a shrink item on idiot_player_0027's pet and the majority of the players do not like giant pets so why is the default response always "get a shrink item"

I agree that pets should be smaller, Its such a pain everytime I zone or create a new pet I have shrink the pet (mage pet), the necro t8 pets totally get in the way all the time in raids, Its just one more thing to have spend time doing amoung the all the other things of buffing and so on before boxers can even kill a mob. Id say If people want a big pet because it signifies better to them then they should get a grow clicky. The pet is still the same big or small. Size doesnt matter on what the pet does.

There seem to be two schools of thought on this.

The first, is that getting a bigger pet is a gain. /boggle but ok.


The second, which is the school of thought that I, and I really believe most others have, is that IF you get a new upgraded pet, and you have to do anything beyond buffing it like you would any pet, like shrinking it, for example, that its a LOSS.

Its a loss of time. Yeah, if you have the mask from BOT its instant cast and instant reuse.
I get that. Its still something you have to do. Not just for your own benefit but for the benefit of others as well. Perhaps those that don't play in first person don't see it this way.

Its a loss of an inventory slot too.


Most importantly, its something that SHOULDN'T need to be done.

I stand by what I said earlier, about somehow coding it like the /chatfontsize.

Allow each pet caster to set their own default.


That or make them TINY by default, and add /grow items for the tiny minority of people that actually like keeping a skyscraper in tow, and having to target through and around it.

It seems to be a fashion vs function thing, and personally, I'll take function every time.

The shrink link was for the players with pets to use it on them, not for you to use it on them.
Also, I think the thread had many responses and suggestions, not just the "get a shrink item".

Maybe we should poll it to see if actually the majority do not like the big pets. I have gotten input from many players saying they do like big pets, so seems to be two factions on this subject matter.

You guys should try to understand as well that we have limited developer time, and sometimes we rather fix big bugs, exploits or new content than use that limited time coding the size of a pet when there are means in game to solve that problem.

New restrictions are in place with the next code update.

Bot pets will now default to size 4 if their size is > 4 and client pets will now default to size 5 if their size is > 5.

This check only happens on initial summon and only applies to permanent pets (Not swarm pets). After the initial resizing, players will still be able to use grow spells on pets if they want them bigger.

Thank you for taking the time to address the pets, I know it seems like a minor thing but when you have half a dozen or more pets, necro and mage on a raid sometime you can't see thru the sea of pets. This will open up a slot for something else also in my bag.

Targeting my Shammy bot's pet and trying to shrink it doesn't work. Can shrink the shammy but not the pet.
