Looking for advice on using a Shaman Pet

I am a inexperienced at using Pets in general. All my pets seem to die, so I never use them. I would like to use them if I could keep them alive. Are there any good advise for managing one of these wolf looking Pets that experienced shamans can share please.

I do know that turning the MOB away from group is important.

Thanks,

i don't have much advice, but i can tell you that i'm using it at lvl 67 and it works quite well.

i give it the STR/DEX buff, haste buff, and combat proc. it hits for up to about 130, and the combat proc goes off a lot providing a good bit of DPS that i don't have to pay attention too.

basically, stat buffs, haste, combat proc, and let it chew on things while you worry about other stuff.

if you have a bard, I'd suggest getting pet affinity soooner rather than later, bardsongs help a fair bit with dps. Also saves you casting a single target panther buff on the pet.

Besides that there's no real rocket science to pets.. buff them up, and make sure they're not going to get riposted.
