Can't decide

Post#1 » Wed Jun 05, 2013 7:21 pm

Hey guys. I started playing on THF over a year ago but haven't played much recently because I started 6 boxing and it was too much.
I was hoping I could get ya'lls input because I want to start playing again but with 3 chars tops. I have a paladin, enc, ranger, mage, bard, and clr. They all have donor weaps except the rng. What comp do you think I should run? my mage has t8 pet*

Thanks for the help guys and hopefully see ya around!

That is a pretty solid 6 box IMO to break them up would work a few ways but IMO I would go Paly,Brd,Clr tank an clr obviously and a bard to pull/dps/sing ;)

Yeah I liked the combo a lot but I made the mistake of subbing to innerspace with just to help the window management(would be another $50 or so to resub which I don't want to do). So I'm spoiled now but I was still having trouble keeping up with 6 characters even with organized windows.

Is there a better boxing program I can use? Alt tabbing to each window I don't think I could handle haha.

Thanks for your opinion! I appreciate it a lot!!!

Aside from wineq there is ISboxer that will tile your windows and make the active window big and you just switch active window by clicking on the one you want, also MQ2 works wonders for boxers ;)

Yeah. ISBoxer runs with innerspace and innerspace is what you have to have the sub for. Its what I was referring to. Its $50 for a year sub or $15 for 3 months.

How does mq work with windowing? I've used MQ before but I just wanted it for the map and nothing else(the map was/is awesome).

Does not help with windowing but the fps plugins helps with lag and it also helps to make boxing toons much less of a headache lol and IMO /stick ftw lol

I play with each window directly on top of one another ( up to 18 toons atm) and you can use wineq to make hot keys for the first 8 toons it loads I have F1-F8 dedicated to the toons I mostly click on or need to get to in a hurry ;)

Autohotkey with this script:

Code: Select all

^!+1::
WinGet,win1, ID,A
return
^!+2::
WinGet,win2, ID,A
return
^!+3::
WinGet,win3, ID,A
return
^!+4::
WinGet,win4, ID,A
return
^!+5::
WinGet,win5, ID,A
return
^!1::
WinActivate, ahk_id %win1%
return
^!2::
WinActivate, ahk_id %win2%
return
^!3::
WinActivate, ahk_id %win3%
return
^!4::
WinActivate, ahk_id %win4%
return
^!5::
WinActivate, ahk_id %win5%
return

Makes it so you can press CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+# and bind the current window focused to that key. then press CTRL+ALT+# to switch to it. Then just memorize 1-2-3-4 to swap to each window, no more alt tabbing.
