Best Non Donor DPS?

Going to start playing here tomorrow and was wonder what the best non donor dps class was? If there are multiple classes that do ok without donor items please feel free to list them and why they are good on this server.

I like mages / necros as non donor. pets owns =) zerkers do a good job too.

Assuming you saved up enough plat to buy the t8 pets the minute you ding 70 mage or necro will be best dps. If you don't, wiz's will do decent damage, melee (sides from maybe monk) will require weapons as you go to be most effective.

I would even add that if you play solo and wants to do DPS, necro will be best, because they can heal themselves pretty well (and deal dmg at the same time), unlike mage.

Isnt hard to save money from 1 to 70 to buy T8 pet spell =) if not, you can do ldons and get what ya miss :p is not hard to farm money here hehe

Can't go wrong with a Rogue. They only get better as you gear them out and they always have a chance at doing the 32k Assassinate dmg with each backstab. They don't have to be behind the mob to do the damage either if you have the AA. Not bad for solo. Plus melee benefit from multiple lifetap augs on their weapons.

Someone should mention the Beastlord...

Beastlord T8 pet is insane, and doesn't have multiple ranks so you get its full power right off. My beast pet puts out dps like a monster.. all while wielding two nice (for me) weapons and with a great spell/clicky selection. With nuke casts and good AA's a mage/necro may be better but you can do so MUCH with a beast. If you want to hang back, cool. If you want to melee, cool. You can even do some tanking if you prep for it properly (though you'd probably do better with a tank bot or something)

With a 30 or 35 power pet focus, the T8 beast pet has nearly 8000 AC and i think almost 40,000 hp, so things I cant tank with the beast I can just sit back and let it do its thing. I've even had some times where I messed up and my SK died but because I'd had my beast pet taunting it kept aggro and I finished the fight with it tanking!

I have a beast and a mage with t8 pets and they're both rocking though.


And if you ever are able to...
And if I ever had the cash to go super-donor on someone, it would be him. Craziness would ensue.. as the Beastlord can utilize a Donor Pet, and dual wield two (different) Donor Weapons. Considering Donor Stuff is always updated to be in line with top tier gear (and I assume the donor pets are too), thats a pretty crazy dps output.

If you goal is endgame but still non donor the best dps is going to be rogue, wizard, monk, zerker, and then the mage, necro, bst. listed in order of highest to lowest dps in my opinion and experience. While the pet classes will give you instant gratification as soon as you hit 70 with rk1 t8 pets, if you are using the best or even next best weapons, augs, and foci for both melee and spell effects you will get more dps out of the melee classes or a wizard.

The wizard has a catch though, hes going to need every buff and debuff he can get to compete. The same can be said for everyone but its going to be even more noticeable on the wizard due to resists and only being able to hit every few seconds instead of constant flow of hits, you will need crits more often and crits to be doing more dmg.

People will say the zerker is bst dps and that is true if considering donor gear but the in-game 2h weapons are nothing compared to the zerker donor weapons putting them at a pretty large disadvantage over the duel wield melee when using only in game drops. This has been improved by the recent addition of 2h proc augs but I haven't seen any non-donor weapon parses to see how much this improved 2h dps and still doubt it beats duel wielding dps and lifetap power.

The pet classes while still able to do good dps are going to fall off over the melee and wizard at end game mostly due to pet deaths. If you are healing your pet you're not nuking/doting and if you're nuking/doting your pet is probably dieing due to ramp and/or AEs. While lifetap aura and group heals can keep em alive some of the time, from what I see they eat it fast if the owner is not babysitting them with positioning and heals. meanwhile the duel wield melees can have 10 lifetap procs and defensive AAs to help keep them going, not counting any healing from outside sources, and can position themselves and re-position quickly.
