A ranger could do fine, no doubt. But it's getting to the point where they can do fine that's tough.

if one were to use a lot of the maxed radiant crystal stuff the dmg by T2 and T3 stuf would be minimal, only the mechanics would kill you. A cleric bot could handle most of that.

I would be very surprised if you could kill any tier raid boss as a ranger wearing non-donor gear with the support of only a bot. It's no reflection on your skill or cunning, but just a recognition that you'd be terribly outmatched.

Even Kael will be an arduous challenge. I don't mean to discourage you, I just want to express how non-trivial my experience was with the pre and early raid tiers. On the plus side, because there is so much content now before raid progression, I am optimistic that you'll have plenty of fun stuff to do.

Best of luck! Sounds like a fun challenge.

Yes, definitely don't be discouraged. It seems like you'll be able to make friends and join groups and there is lots of fun to be had before you attempt to break into T1. Ldons alone provides a route to mid-range gear so long as you don't mind it taking a fair amount of time.

If you're looking for help and I'm on, don't be afraid to ask for help. I know that goes for most of us here, too.

Thanks for all the wonderful advice everyone. I will definitely be using a lot of it!

For leveling I found the pally bot really helpful, but once we were both geared from icewell, I found our heals were lacking, especially mine. I did a LDoN rescue task with him and it was a very harrowing experience: almost no single pulls, and died at least 3 times. I did win, though, with about 5 mins to spare. This is when I realized that pally bot pacify is not working.

Having finished up most of my melee dps aa's while doing icewell/FG, I decided to give LDON a shot with a cleric bot, so I could pacify pull. I have done 4 total now, 3 with the cleric. The pacify pulling made it a breeze for me, and with the bazaar weapons I bought, I barely bando in my earthcaller for trash anymore. LDoN is a great place for me to gain aa's and some gem drops while it not seeming too much like a grind. And now that I'm putting pretty much all my aa's into my defensives, these will continue to get easier as time goes by. I even did a boss mission last night and was surprised that even at a yellow con, he was not much of a challenge.

I figure when my defensive aa's are full and I have a few pieces of the LDoN gear I will switch to a shammy bot. At that point I should be able to take on the normal LDoNs without having to single pull.

Things I am doing between LDoNs: Headhunter Tasks in Sebilis and Nagafen's Lair, farming CT and FG for blacksmithing and tailoring ingredients, sitting in the bazaar collecting afk points

no one mentioned ldon tokens, alot easier to obtain the treasure box gear with them fairly cheap compared to the item you get like ie: http://www.thehiddenforest.org/webtools/items.php?id=13104
