Getting close to 50/50...who will win...the yays or the nays? How long can we resist the diabolical urge to press the button that could wipe out our very existence? Voted yes, because it is annoying ! because too many lifetap augs! too many melees also :p

Could those who voted no please share their reasoning? If it's a good reason, I'm more than happy to just do the window swapping and drop the whole issue. However, except for Arremis, none of the no voters except Sarcon said why ... and who knows how the leezard voted!

There are obviously enough opposed that even if the vote goes in favor of removing it, it would be a good idea to leave it possibly.

I voted no because it's part of the game....taking it out would anger a lot of people who actually care about the story of EQ and play those classes ><. It wouldn't be the same if an SK/Necro lifetapped and you didn't see their emote/message...

Is it possible to maybe just change only sk/necro lifetaps from an emote message to a /say message?

to clarify my post tyler i meant my lifetap self proc ( not aug ) emotes is proof of my existance (was a jab at my crappy dmg ), but then i dont spam lifetap emotes like dual wield/double attackers do with their lifetap augs.

How about this idea? For the lifetap augs, can we create a custom spell that isn't a lifetap exactly, but has two parts - a nuke for X amount of damage and a self-heal for X amount of damage just as a lifetap would give? This will allow us to still know Sarcon exists and reduce the absurd amount of lifetap spam from the DPS melee.

For example, lets look at Sharp Blade, an ST aug with Life Sap IV. Now, for whatever reason, the spell doesn't say it is a lifetap, but I assure it is as I group with Bresham a lot and know for a fact he spams lifetap emotes. Can we create a custom spell for augs like this ... in this case giving a 175 nuke and the appropriate heal (Don't know if it is 175?). If you want details on proc messages I'll come up with those too, but I gotta run out the door :)

really its not a big issue if you take it away from me, but in return you can make my custom dots harder to resist (http://clone.thehiddenforest.org/spell.php?id=8541) has a hard time landing even on trash much less bosses (FYI i havnt landed on a T3+ boss to date)

This alternate solution would probably even be easier to implement for Tyler than trying to figure out how to remove the emote line.

Yup I think we can do something like this. Runic is i think exactly what you are talking about. However keep in mind that heal spells will cause more agro. We will see how it works out.

Can someone give me the name of an aug that is widely used so we can test it on that?
