Hi all,

I am new around here and am trying to get the game running and would appreciate any help.
I installed a fresh copy of Titanium. I downloaded the THFdownloader.exe file from the link in the guide.

The updater runs but when I point to my EQ directory ( E:\Programs\Sony Online Entertainment\Installed Games\EverQuest) I receive the error:
Unsupported: Please contact THF admins

I'm not sure what I am doing wrong.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Side note:
I am able to see a list of servers including the THFserver if I use the shortcut I created with the "patchme" addition. but cant access any of them as the game freezes when I try.

It appears you are using an unsupported client type. Make sure that you are pointing at the correct directory for your titanium install. The directory that you listed sounds more like a EQLive.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not exactly sure what eqlive is.
I will uninstall and reinstall titanium to a new directory, and see if that works.

I just downloaded eq via Steam. Will that work ?

The steam install will not work, it installs the live client (or something very close to it).

You'll want a disc version of titanium, Sod, Sof, or Underfoot for best results. If you reinstall from disc, install it to wherever it normally goes, then before you do anything else, copy that folder elsewhere then modify that one with the THF patcher / setting up the eqhosts and such.

Ok I got it to work with a fresh Titanium install.

I am getting a GUI error when I try to launch the game though.
I am trying to use the PLAY button from the THF patcher, maybe I shouldn't try to use that?
here is the error:

Error in your GUI XML files. Check UIERROR.TXT
the text files says:
Warning: file EQLSUI.xml not found in directory UIFiles\default\. Attempting to use file from Default skin.
Couldn't open or read UIFiles\default\EQLSUI.xml


Is there a different UI I should be using.
I am just trying to use the default.

THF downloader should download the uifiles folder you need. Check to see if your EQ install folder has a default folder in uifiles - I want to say there should be a lot of files there (> 400 iirc)

I resovled the issue buy reloacating the THFpatcher in my EQ folder, that resovled that issue.

My last issue is I don't see any servers once I login. I have a public login server account, maybe I need to do something to link it to my THF account?
does THF use a private login server for authentication?

I had to create a new login server account on the THF site.
Soooo looking forward to playing.
