New player: Where do I get upgrades to the starting armor?

Hello THF -

I’m level 50 something and am still running around with the starting armor. It was fine for a while, but now my tank bots die really quickly There are cool weapon upgrades everywhere, but new clothing isn’t dropping in the zones I’ve been in (CB, Unrest, Guk, Oasis).

I haven’t crafted — is that required? I feel like I’m missing something obvious — please help!

In City of Mist, Lower Guk, etc. you'll be able to quest for Chaotic armor. The spectre npc in the forest will give you directions on how to obtain them. But the armor pieces themselves (un-made) drop from various named mobs in those custom zones.

There are also armor drops in Natimbi which is a 35 to 55? zone I think along with a couple fun quests. If you catch me on I think I have some tradeable world boss gear you can have. It is just rotting in my bank. Feel free to shoot me a tell on my main Cadaveria and I will get back to you. Usually if I am on I am not afk unless I am in the guild hall

Thanks, Vyrial and Cadavaria! I spend a few hours in LGuk and finally got the rusted piece and 3 chaos coins. Ended up being a bracer lol...a little slow going for me. I’ll try Natimbi next!

You might not be boxing but it's still good information and gives you an idea for some time.

I recommend reading through both the guides on this forum and the excellent guides on the server's wiki. Both give a really clear guide to what options you have for progressing through the server's (huge amount) of content.

You are welcome. I am glad to see someone enjoying the content and not rushing to the end game. Those guides and the wiki are great resources. If you need any help with anything just ask. A lot of helpful folks on this server with a lot of knowledge. I am going to suggest that once you get to 70 to try to make a few friends to help you progress or join a guild that will help you out but try to stay away from any flagging tokens or extreme power leveling/gearing because you miss so much great content which will lead to boredom fairly quickly usually

Natimbi was perfect! Also went back to CB to get some armor patterns and materials for those quests (for my needy bots).
