I'm not sure why the client would have a conflict when if I attack the Dragon Sage I get whomped, as it regards to using an unoptimized client.

Furthermore, I'm not precisely sure how to create an unoptimized client. I know how to code in BASIC. But, I don't exactly know my way around the entirety of the EQ subdirectories, particularly when it comes to modifying it so it doesn't draw as much system resources in the way of rendering.

What I assume you're telling me, Ydiss, is that your unoptimized client couldn't efficiently track your location to your computer monitor itself and it's a waypoint problem that occurs between serverside and clientside. But, you had said it was your unoptimized client that does it. For me, it's a normal client.

In short, I appreciate your attempts at helping me. However, it isn't really helping me and I don't think it's an issue between a disparity of the location of my character according to the server versus the location of my character according to my client, which would be the root issue and could be caused by using a client that has a borked graphics setup, as your unoptimized clients would do, yet my optimized clients would not do. This doesn't resolve the issue that I can't interact with the Dragon Sage with only that character.

Now I know for a fact this character is bugged.

I just tried to fashion a "Fiery Diamond of Preservation" and it ate the diamond, the bag, and the water and gave me the message "You already have a Fiery Diamond of Perservation (121662) in your inventory."

Your symptoms sound very similar to mine, that's all.

What I mean by an optimised client is heavily altering the ini and global load files to dramatically increase performance at a cost of display (reduced graphics, missing objects, missing models).

There is a sticky topic on the 3rd party forum that explains this in detail. As I run several clients at once, I followed the guide in that topic (including running two distinct copies of EQ, one not optimised and the other heavily optimised) to improve the performance when running multiple clients. What I've noticed is that some issues I've encountered in the past have been caused by those dramatic optimisations on toons using the optimised client and I frequently resolved my issues by either tweaking the optimisations or by doing things in the "non-optimised" client (like handing in quests to the dragon sage when it didn't work on the optimised client)

If you've not done any of what's explained in that topic on the third party forum then it's likely your symptoms are not caused by the same issue as mine. But if you have done anything that's included in that topic, particularly using a cut down version of the global load file, then it's very likely you'll encounter some issues at some point.

I'm sorry if this isn't helping you. I'll leave it be now. Good luck sorting it out.

Just a follow up, not sure what but it was an issue client side. I managed to log him in and hail The Dragon Sage with a proper respond.
